I’d assume that it’s the same reason why people who play horror games: the adrenaline rush. It’s fun to willingly do something that’s scary and it’s a totally different experience than passively watching something.

You raise a good point. HPV can cause cancer in anyone. Since we have a vaccine for the most common strains, then it should be something that everyone should get.
