There’s really two problems at work here.

I wonder how many of the people commenting on this story are actual professional developers or have ever dealt with feature creep, unrealistic VP demands, paid down technical debt, and all of the inglorious crap that actual, professional developers have to deal with.

This is also super prevalent in the WoW community. Devs announce a new PvE raid: PvPers tell them to fix PvP. Devs announce PvP balance changes: PvE-ers complain that X class performs poorly in raids and should be fixed.

Long time dev here... sometimes DLC/expansions are things we wanted to put in the game, but were cut because we didn’t have time to polish the feature/level/etc up to the level of quality we wanted for the game.
