I live in Dallas, and every year I debate getting some kind of "winter" boot. Obviously I wouldn't get the wear out of them that someone living in Minnesota would, but when those one or two bad ice storms hit us every year, I wish I had something that would keep my feet warm & dry & would give me decent traction.

I feel bad laughing at your pain because I am a migraine sufferer and fighting one off right now, but this cracked me up. Reminds me of the time I threw up all over myself and my car while driving home from a Fourth of July party with a migraine. Migraines & holidays = good times!!

So very sorry for your loss.

"bitter dinner land mines" < laughing SO hard!!! very apt description!

Oh dear.

Ooof. Bless you for doing that. Maybe it will help a little to think that possibly that was the best food that guy has had in *years*? And you can buy another cupcake another day.

So happy for you! Many, many positive vibes coming your way. :)

YES!!! OMG. Hate that ad so much!! I kept trying to figure out how to turn it off or something but couldn't. :(

Not sure I am the best source of advice, but as someone also well into her 40s who has never had someone (or even the prospect of someone) to bring as a date to a wedding, I am happy for you! Good luck! :)

Absolutely, you should do this for yourself! Forget these people who say it's "silly" — if it would bring you enjoyment and wouldn't hurt anyone, who are they to judge? Sheesh. Life is too short not to do the things that bring us pleasure, and surely there's a local community chorus that would love to put your talent

Good to know! Thanks.

Forgive my ignorance, but why?

Eeeeeee! I die. :D

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( I lost my kitty 7 years ago and still miss her very much.

Just sending you some e-hugs. It's so hard to lose someone so special.

How awful!! Definitely send a letter to the doctor to let him/her know how unprofessional their staff is. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

I so feel your pain. My mother talked about joining FB for about a year before she actually did it, and I was dreading it ... and while I guess it could be worse, I'd be happier if she weren't on it. Like you, my mom's never replied with anything *truly* awful (yet), but it's just embarrassing Mom

So, so happy for you!! :)

Yay for your roommate! One more burden out of the way. :)

Thanks for the update - I've been wondering how things were going for you. That's *so* great that your employer is accommodating you!! I'm sure that's a big load of stress off your back. Fingers crossed something can be worked out re: transportation to medical appt.s & stuff. e-hugs. :)
