There was an old scifi story that talked about a secret weapon on the Lunar surface that everyone thought was a massive energy weapon. It turned out to be a mass driver that hurled slugs of molten metal so fast, that they appeared to be glowing beams of energy.
You didn't see scorch marks because the lunar regolith/dust concealed any that might have been left. Also, the Moon's in a high-quality vacuum... The exhaust couldn't really "scorch" anything, without the presence of oxygen to support combustion of the lunar material. If you recall footage from the landings &…
Au contraire. It's a little-known fact that Ol' Darth-V was quite often bustin' grooves at the Tatooine Cantina, every 3rd cycle. His mem-crystal mashups were the talk of the sector.!
I've gotta hand it to you, you had me there for a second. I have to watch myself on these replies.
Yes! I lusted after this particular suit design for my Major Matt Mason, waaaay back when I was three or four years old. Alas, I never managed to get one. Now, they sell on eBay for far, far more than I could ever justify spending.
My bad. I assumed they were classed as rodents because of their teeth/jaw structures.
Would it be "mouse overlords," "mice overlords" or "animated rodent overlords?" I suppose "rodent" would be too broad, since that leaves open rabbits & squirrels. Then again, if Disney bought WB, they'd have Bugs Bunny, too. Who owns Rocky & Bullwinkle? If they scooped them up also, they'd have all the rodent bases…
There's a pretty good sci-fi novel by Allen Steele that just came out, called "V-S Day," that's an alternate history treatment of the Sanger design being developed by the Germans instead of the V-2.
I'm still working on a pro-bono website that's aimed at chronicling the achievements of a Civil War veteran who received the Medal of Honor. PatrickDeLacy.com - The Last Union Captain .
I seem to recall reading accounts of farmers and woodsmen being killed when they accidentally cut into trees that had pockets/traces of poison gas leftover from WWI.
I loved it. Nice take on showing a hero going through PTSD after dealing with mind-blowing events. Also, showed that it's the guy INSIDE the armor who's the truly dangerous person. You can take away his toys and he's still got his brain.
That totally sucks. I really hope that you are reunited ASAP.
"Major Award"-level congratulations! I'm looking forward to reading your book when it's available!
Same here. I'd like to see a whole group of kids get excited about creating something. Who knows which among them might go much further with this kind of support and encouragement?
Isn't that the location that was proposed as a possible site for a manned base?
No one suspected the robot butler.
Maybe they're actually just stringing along their investors?
Awwww, c'mon! Great scenery, fresh air, all the back bacon you could want... What more do you need? :)
