I love UFO. Scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid. The idea of having a hidden lunar base with interceptor squadrons was beyond cool! Really wish something had come of the rumored remake in the late 90's (I think it was then.)

It's Dark Phoenix, getting ready for a "Midnight Munchies Run" on our Sun.
My wife & I always drool over episodes on HGTV that show ginormous private libraries :)
I like the autogyro designs. They're pretty much stall-proof and have the nice safety feature of being able to auto-rotate one to the ground if the power quits.
I'm in the same boat. I love books, but I need to buy either iBook or Kindle format. This looks pretty intriguing, indeed.
The incendiary bat bombs were a wild invention, too. Not sure they would have qualified; they were tested, caused a fire, but I don't think they were ever deployed.
Looks like it!
So, it just goes with the flow? :)
I once read a description of a fusion reactor by the author Martin Caiden. It ended up sounding like a really huge internal combustion engine in the end, with deuterium pellets taking the place of gasoline and umpteen gigawatt laser "spark plugs" to ignite them :)
That would be ideal; certainly go a long ways towards making it more feasible.
Very true. If they used some kind of nuclear propulsion to heat it into steam, that could very well work, or somehow managed to ionize it for an ion drive.
"FIGHT! WIN!!!"
Pi? Now you're just being irrational.
Completely ignoring the fuel it would take to send it along with the vessel, water is a fantastic radiation shielding material.
Looks like an Umgah from Star Control 2 :)
I could be completely wrong, but ... I *think* that Apple doesn't charge for downloading; Amazon does that because they're subsidizing the whole Whispernet thing with their Kindles. I remember reading how some authors got sticker shock when they received a bill from Amazon for downloading charges. As far as I'm aware,…
Is iBooks an option?
I think (ha! :) ) that trying to equate something as straightforward as a binary storage system to a biochemical one is inherently flawed. Memories appear to be highly complex, encompassing sight, sound, touch, taste, smell and emotion - any one of which would require a huge amount of digital memory to even remotely…
Ever since I saw the opening to DCUO, I've been hoping that a full-blown movie would be made. Keep the same animators, voice actors, etc. I would dearly love to see it on the big screen.
Hmmm.... not sure how I feel about Supergirl ending up on the planet that far ahead of Superman. I'm old-fashioned and still like the "original" version, where she was one of the survivors on a fragment of Argo City that was blasted loose during the destruction of the planet. (yeah, I know - G-forces, flattened into…
