Thanks :)

"Raving ignorance" - Cool. Congratulations for clearing that up for me. I bask in your superior knowledge and will from this day forward be sure to never, ever, ever misuse the term - at least in your most august presence.

Ok, how about Audioanimatronic Mitt?

I didn't see anything remotely resembling "railing against the changes of technology" in the post. TheScraper was commenting on how things like this needed to be put into context of what was available at the time of its release. When you look at what general computing was like then, this was pretty wild.

Excuse me, Captain Pedantic. If it's using magnetics to hurl something along a rail, it's a railgun. "Linear Accelerator," while accurate, just doesn't have the same cool sound.

I loved him doing the voice of the boss in "The Incredibles." Perfect for that role. :)

Nice article - thanks! I'm really eager to see how the new railgun launching system works. I can't imagine the amount of shielding necessary to protect the electronics from the magnetic pulse when that thing lets loose. Cool stuff!

Thank you. Awesome comment :)

Until my broadband connection goes through an order-of-magnitude speed increase where I can download a movie in the same time it takes me to pop a blu-ray disc into the player, I'm sticking with discs. Same goes for the picture quality - no blocky artifacts for me, thank you!

It certainly clarified things for me - thanks! :)

Great. Now I can't unsee that.

Nah. Not enough randomness or spelling errors to be him.

This sounds interesting. Think I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the nice review!

I guess I'm one of the few people who don't mind this kind of interface. To some extent, I can see how it would help people who aren't technogeeks - gives them something familiar that they can relate to. Considering how the vast majority of people who purchase iPads are "regular folk," Apple hasn't done too badly

Exactly right. In the 1970's and 80's, getting anything on the screen that was recognizable took some serious effort and computing horsepower. Classmate of mine wrote his own ray tracer on an Amiga 1000 in C, from the ground-up. He managed to display a crude duck constructed with different color spheres. At the time,

Thank you. +1

They should have known to check Ash's back for the tell-tale brass windup key.

I'd like to see them do the Stealth Armor version - that looked really cool. Deep blue-black - very cool appearance.

It was gold though, not this Cheez-Wiz yellow.

Yeah, "Mustard Man" or "Iron Mustard" just doesn't cut it.
