So, am I the only one who thought from the moment I first saw a Prius, that Toyota’s bodywork designers stole wildly from this car?

My gran had one of these. I recall this from the 80's sometime. Super cool the way it would go from on the deck to raised with pneumatic suspension. I remember we weren’t allowed to climb into the back until it was started and the suspension was raised. I remember the smooth ride and comfy seats. It was a 1200 cc or

While I agree with everything you’re saying, it’s really weird it isn’t Torch saying it.  No offense, but this is right up his street and it’s where we expect him to be, preaching the awesomeness of the old and weird.

While the GS is a lovely car, i personally like the CX

I do. The wheel is fine. Everything else is super weird... In a good, Citroën, way : Super soft hydropneumatique suspension that will absorb every bump and make everyone seasick, classic “mushroom” brake pedal, super quick and devoid of any kind of feedback, heavy steering with terminal understeer, just like in a 2CV

I got a brand new steering wheel fitted to mine and it doesn't feel bendy at all (and the old one also didn't).

I do have experience of driving one of these (my first car) and I don’t recall the steering wheel being particularly bendy.

The parents of a classmate of mine back in the 1970s had a Renault which had the gearshifter lever positioned where the windshield wiper stick usually is located. (Btw, manual gearbox, not automatic!)

Hot damn, you’re right. I was all set to praise this reimagined interior (which is lovely, to be sure) but the original is excellent as well. Actually, that reflects rather well on the folks who did the redesign—it captures much of the original spirit, but with nicer materials and better fit-and-finish. They managed

It’s a lovely re-imagining, but, to be honest, there wasn’t a whole lot wrong with the original:

The hp system is actually quite reliable. My 1976 GS has been rebuilt in the last 20 months and the only thing that didn’t need any work was the hp, no leaks and no brake issues. The most annoying part are the oil leaks, I’ve never seen a car leaking as much as mine. But once you’ve taken the engine out and replaced th

Someone start a petition to make manufacturers start making felt door panels again with cool, yet simple, stitching

That’s a long wheelbase Prestige, which has all the fancy and the pants, but I think I’d still prefer the regular sedan.

If my wife sees this, I’m going to have to buy a Citroën. I don’t want to buy a Citroën.

Thanks for these, Max! I grew up with CXs, first a 1979 CX 2400 Familiale, a seven seater behemoth that we travelled in around Scandinavia and central Europe in 1980. Then a 1985 CX 20 TRE, which I took over in 1995, a car that is still running today although with a new owner. There’s sadly nothing similar to the CX

My dad ran a CX safari for a few years. It was so cool but never worked brilliantly, being a big family we ended up in 505gti estate. Which we all loved.

I really miss old my CX25 TRD Turbo 2. Incredible highway car that quite literally erased bumps, returned 35MPG and cruised happily at 90 - 100MPH all day long thanks to excellent aero. <Sigh>
