Note to self:
Well, I’m glad you asked! I’m actually still deciding between a Citroen GS and a Citroen CX.
Very nice story! It brought back memories - we drove along the Gulf of Bothnia a couple of times in my red Citroen GS. We had much nicer weather, it looked quite idyllic.
I’ve had my forever cars for a long time now.
> When you first had kids, what car did you buy?
My parents were not really into cars, but they bought two new Citroen GSes: in 1972 and in 1979. They also bought a Citroen BX in early 1990s, but they soon decided that the GS was a better car. So they sold the BX and bought another GS in 1996.
Some people think French cars are crap. I beg to differ. All my cars are Citroens, and none of them died.
Fantastic article! I hope to see more stuff like this on Jalopnik!
When my old Citroens (GS, CX, XM) squat like that, I know it’s time to replace the rear suspension spheres.
I still have my ZX Spectrum 48K, and I showed it to my kids a couple of years ago. They laughed at it at first, but they had good fun with Manic Miner, Atic Atac and other classic games. Most of the games still loaded perfectly fine from 35+ years old cassettes.
That was my first computer, too! It was called Sinclair ZX81 here in Europe. I started with mere 1 Kb of RAM, and then I upgraded to 16 Kb which felt awesome.
That would not be great because the awesome, fantastic Citroen GS was not yet available in 1968.
Camping with Citroen C6.
Citroen GS, of course!
A Citroen GS, of course!
All my cars are Citroens. I never owned any other car. I only ever sold my first car, which was a Citroen Dyane made in 1978. All the others are still with me:
