This article reminded me of Erich Honecker’s Citroën CXs, which are cool AF:

Practical Wedge:

Maintenant tu parles ma langue. Avec un accent slovène, ce qui est assez bizarre pour aller avec un poteau Citroën.

These things are so much fun to drive. The hydropneumatic suspension makes bumps feel like they are made of butter. You feel the initial hit, and then they melt away. The rev happy air cooled boxer roars and screams, and it’s jolly good fun to trash it. The steering is a suggestion, you’ll first get bodyroll before

One of the many odd things about the GS and Citroen that it took many years for a hatchback to be made (as the GSA, A for ‘atch).

Yes, GS came out in 1970 and CX in 1975. It is quite the opposite, CX was derived from GS. Both of them were the most comfortable and advanced cars of their time. No German technology got even near...

Dibs on Kerametal for a band name.

For when the 2cv breaks down.

That’s an “S” and it stands for surmultipliée, which means “overdrive.”

It’s a dogleg 1st:

I love the coverage of all of these cars at the Lane museum. I happened upon it when visiting Nashville a few months ago and absolutely loved the place! It was by far the best automotive museum I’ve ever been to. Their collection of cars, bikes, and motorcycles is one of the most unique things you’ll ever see - and my
