Sounds to me like he might have mental health issues. Hopefully he and his apartment get some help.

I’m with you; it’s probably not meant to read as classic anti-Semitism, but damn if not calling Wiener “The Nose” doesn’t read as some 1950s bullshit (not earlier, mind, because earlier was more explicit and less veiled in body stereotypes).

More to the point from an editorial stance with Jezebel: I get not

Seconding. It might seem harmless, but it reinforces ugly stereotypes. And - perhaps more offensively to me as a Jew - it’s a bad joke.

I read that and while not Jewish, I’m also uncomfortable with it. To be honest, were he not Jewish, I would still be uncomfortable with it. His nose doesn’t have anything to do with his shit behavior. I don’t care where he’s from or how acceptable this particular cheap joke is in specific geographical areas.

It looks like that whole thread was dismissed and can no longer be read.

That’s a nasty thing to say about a Jewish person and you know it. I’m Jewish too and I am not amused. It was completely unnecessary. I wish you would just say you didn’t consider the implications and that you didn’t mean it that way instead of doubling down.

“It is difficult to keep track of the location of patients, so docs and nurses frequently barge into the wrong room/ curtained off area looking for the wrong person”

If it is wrong, it is wrong. “Taking ownership” of a term is a coping mechanism to shitty treatment. It is not a good thing, and is a piss poor idea.

“Huma Abedin, a beautiful and smart woman married to a nose with a sheepish man attached”

Again, statistics do not back up your claim:

A slave who smiles at his child or looks happily at a blue sky is a different thing from “the only thing that put a smile on Hercules’ face was when Lady Washington walked into the kitchen” (approximate quote). The book shows slaves taking pleasure in their masters’ happiness as if that was their purpose in life. It’s

A lot of “practitioners” of facilitated communication are in major denial and think their patients actually are communicating. (Instead it’s their own unconscious desires pushing the finger around.)

People who complain about mass incarceration are usually referring to nonviolent, non-predatory offenders.

I think mass incarceration is a problem. I think a lot of the less serious crimes are over sentenced and a good number of murderers can and should be given the chance to be rehabilitated.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or congrats on a burn. Either way, as one who still hopes Clinton gets the nomination, it’s a bummer.

Exactly. Quite surprised by the editorial slant here. I mean yes cheating sucks. But revenge porn is awful.

Yeah, I’m sorry she got cheated on and dump the mf for sure, but that is an awful thing to do. Team no one. This is basically revenge porn. Not cool.

Please. Who here hasn’t terrorized someone with a sword while dressed as the Yellow Power Ranger?

Yep. I teach high school students and the boys are always embarrassed to admit they like Pride and Prejudice in particular. I can’t count the number of times a boy/young man has said to me, in an abashed and bemused voice, “You know, this is really good.”

San Francisco was a good one. I wonder if Pam is part of the reason the producers decided to make people live in a house and work/volunteer together, as she was too busy becoming a doctor to be lounging around the house watching Puck and Pedro fight.
