I think actually that it’s an area with a lot of liberals who’ve fled the city and conservatives who have lived there for forever. So not old-school Rockefeller Republican types.

If it was a $20,000 piece of jewelry maybe I would be OK with this because the dollar amount makes a difference. But for $84, minus cost, this just seems more about self-congratulations on the part of the jewelers. I think that’s why it sits wrong with me. But I haven’t put too much thought into it.
At first I felt like it was my fault for reading into the headline, but the self-recrimination stops now. Fuck fest =/= locking out your roommate to have sex!
For some reason I expected a love triangle to be part of the story and now I'm disappointed. This is like freshmen year roommate level of intrigue.
I watched for months and I loved Larry Wilmore. But once the primaries were in full swing I got so frustrated with the show’s treatment of Clinton. The last straw for me was when Ricky Velez referred to her as a dog the show’s Twitter feed highlighted the quote. I’m not in their target at all (middle aged white lady)…
Just like adults, babies can get hungry at odd times. Parents shouldn’t be exiled to their house because their babies might get hungry. Screaming babies are stressful to walk around with in public spaces because the same people giving you the side eye for nursing are scowling at you for disrupting their reverie at…
In my apartment 2 days ago I saw an insect that I thought was a roach but when it flew away I decided it must have been a moth. Now I am going to have a delayed panic attack.
Yeah. I feel like he’s already broken America.
All it takes is another guy like this to take Trump’s rhetoric as seriously as Dear took the Planned Parenthood videos...
Sadly, even 40k/year private school in Manhattan won’t necessarily get you a safe space for a child.
I live in Manhattan and can afford private but choose public (I have a middle schooler and an elementary-er). I agree that the big difference is the access to the other parents who send their kids to private school. And as they get older I’m sure there’s a difference in many cases in the quality of science labs and…
Dear Julian’s Parents,
I’ve sat through a lot of shitty movies with my kids but as soon as I saw one preview of this I said I refuse to subject myself to this. But my oldest is 11 so I think she’s ready to man the fort. I’ll sit in the lobby and read Twitter.
It’s a test. If he loves her despite the bagel/tuna selection then it was meant to be.

Is he going to pick the name Lexington? Will it kickoff a generation of boys named Lexington?
And also $15/hour is completely different in different places. Compare how far it will get you in Boston vs. Muncie.
If you’re suggesting she’s a liberal, I generally agree. But that’s where she falls on certain policies compared to far left. If you’re suggesting she’s a reactionary, than we are just going to have to smile politely at each other.
It is a great time to be alive insofar it is the better than the alternatives that have existed to date. And we will slowly slowly slowly make things keep getting better.
But what if right now it is impossible for a woman who passes the liberal purity litmus test to get this far? What if just being a woman is so radical that it doesn’t leave much more room to move far left of center? What if demanding that kind of purity means never getting a female candidate because then we never get…
