No they’re not. They have as much in common with F1 engines as a Prius does.

Right, they need the new model. It came out 2 years after the C6. Not the C7... the C6.
Absolutely. I don’t see going away from it any time soon, no other coupes available with a usable back seat and the simplicity that I want in a car. I don’t want to have to go into a menu to turn off all of the nannies.
Both the Corvette and Viper are (or were, in the case of the the Viper) raced extensively.
The GTO is a great car. What it is not, is a sexy car. But I’m weird, so I like ‘em.
I honestly couldn’t care less about those cars unless they race them. Making a “harder core” version would just be even more pointless than they currently are.
Yeah, it’s not terrible, but it’s definitely generic Ferrari/McLaren/Lamborghini.
Granted we don’t know the specs yet, but considering the size of that wing I’d hope they could cut 7 seconds off of the last-gen ZR1. My guess is they’re gunning to be quicker than the ACR by at least a second or so, but we’ll see.
Still based on a full-size platform, even if the wheelbase was shortened. The car is a huge beast, it definitely does not fall into the “pony car” or “sports car” category, and it’s designed basically to be good looking (even if it is a caricature) and go fast in a straight line. That’s pretty much the definition of…
The Challenger is the 2-door version of a 4-door mid/full-size sedan. It’s the very definition of a muscle car. The Mustang and Camaro are pony cars that have transitioned closer to sports cars at this point, but they are definitely not muscle cars.
LMP1 was going downhill from the moment they regulated straight gasoline engines out of the picture. Fans care about the speed of the cars, not who has the best hybrid tech. The diesel era was OK and was interested for a few years just because of the oddity of it all, but mandating expensive hybrid cars did nothing…
There’s usually a couple privateer teams using chassis from suppliers. They’re much cheaper to run (because of no stupid hybrid system), just not as quick (because of no stupid hybrid system and less chassis/body development).
This is basically what the Rolex series did with the Daytona Prototype cars, which sucked. Allowing people to develop the entire car makes for much more interesting racing than just throwing a different engine (which all make the same power thanks to BoP) and bodywork on top of a cage.
Torch, you missed the answer to your question in Skoda’s response:
Bring back GT1! The world needs more homologation specials!
You’re just noticing this now? I tried explaining this to my coworkers when one of them decided to paint his restomodded 240Z silver, but they all looked at me like I was crazy. Silver is officially the most boring color available now, mostly because most manufacturers don’t even offer a beige (sorry, champagne). …
My first car had opposing wipers and it was glorious. I still don’t understand why they aren’t on every single car in the world (or at least every one with 2 wiper blades. Standard wipers not only leave that stupid triangle but they leave another triangle at the top on the driver’s side and that huge rainbow of dirt…
What’s it like in the rain?
I just had one last weekend. I was out in the garage cleaning and re-oiling my air filter and the wife brought me home a chocolate shake from Chick-Fil-A. Not wanting to kick it and knock it over, I placed it on the flattest elevated surface I could find within reach, the corner of the firewall cowl. I go about…
Click “filters” and select “games”. Problem solved.
