Hahaha us and some friends had just started on Pandemic Legacy (were in our second session). Will be interesting to see how keen we are on that one once we’re out of quarantine.
Yea, I miss work too at my school.
God this is weird, but I miss my bus ride. I'm huddled in the corner with headphones on and it's a peculiar sensation of being alone with strangers. If I make it through this without my wife offing me for being annoying, that bus ride will be amazing.
To hell with her.
Today, November 19, ...
(And the occasional accidental muscle-memory click from former readers.)
You know when this is even more fun? At church. At least in Catholicism, you’re supposed to wait to leave until the celebrants get out, or at least have passed you. I always sit on the aisle, and every week there are people in my row who, rather than observe the rules and sing along the final hymn, stand anxiously…
You do you buddy no judgment here. Your reasons are valid either way. I make my peace with the fact that I'm supporting my best friend Zack in his article!
I’d give you a second star for your correct hot dog opinion if I could
It’s a tough question for sure, and as a writer I’m obviously quite biased. Boycotts can be effective for sure, but the first casualties are always the front lines: the writers, the artists etc etc. After a good old burn and slash, the guys at the top still have assets to live with. Don’t cite Bourdain. When asked what he might serve Trump, he famously replied “hemlock.” In 2001 he wrote that anyone who visited Cambodia would want to beat Henry Kissinger to death with his bare hands, and last year he followed up by tweeting that he regretted many things he had said, but not that.
1. I can’t control this.
Here’s hoping Amofah is found alive and well—and gets the help he needs. It’s not looking good, and dragging that kind of body of water for one person is very much the epitome of needle-in-a-haystack work, but until his whereabouts are confirmed one way or another, all anyone can do is hope he set his stuff down and…
As a manager in a high end $30mil+ a year restaurant, it’s even more disparaging that the managers are the bottom 3 lowest paid employees in the restaurant. Dishwashers and busboys are the only positions in my restaurant that make less than I do.
I understand the frustration that can build up between BOH and FOH over the pay gap, but just remember that the rich want us fighting over scraps with each other while they continue to stagnant wage increases, pass right to work laws, and otherwise keep all of us working at a grind to nowhere. I’m happy to tip out BOH.…
If he’s only making 11 dollars an hour as a cook (god forbid chef), he can’t be that good at it.
