Wonderfully Disastrous

I’m just this side of no deal. I’m not scared of rust, just scared of the rust you don’t see, as every british car i’ve dealt with, the rabbit hole just got deeper and deeper. Maybe 1700 and i would consider it knowing i would never make any money on it, and just drive and enjoy.

All hail the lego tiger anus.

Ugly looks better rolling than shiny stuck on the side of the road.

Repair may end up more than the car, but it's a low starting point for a unique classic. Nice price for me, if considered as a point of entry.

A much as i want to hate on the PT cruiser, finding a replacement for my aunt’s has been a debacle and a half for another similar car that fits all her neds as well as a pt does. This is oddly a good suggestion.

Too much for something with no benefit over say, a kia soul, and the annoyance of constantly being asked what it is. That’s a no from me dawg. Just because JDM doesn’t mean it’s actually worth anything.

I am all for the new electric car movement, but this article hits the nail on the head for why Istill pour dino juice into a 30 year old Oldsmobile. The infrastructure is nowhere near ready, and good luck convincing the conservative end to fund it. the rabbit hole goes deeper the more I look at it.

I had a 1993 cutlas ciera that threw a rod after 302k miles due to the one time i had someone else do an oil change and crossthreaded the filter. I did a post-mortem on the engine after it was swapped out (cheaper to fix than buy another car, plus everything, suspension, exhaust, tires were new, did all that myself)

Longtime buick 3300/3800 owner here. I double this move.

Shit, congrats! I would like to see more oddball car news to break the monotony of a slow weekend. Love motorsports but it just doesn’t fill the time enough

I like seeing oldsmobile get some love. Beyond that, this platform sucked, the seats were the only redeeming quality, and just no. Not at any price. Give me an aurora 3.5, kplsthx

It’s sweet. Really well done. Looks cool, like a kickass boy racer classic roller.

Um, I am exactly the kind of person that would say this in person. You still refuse to answer the honest question that was in there so... meh?

This is bang up my alley. Simplistic, no nonsense lines and mechanicals, it's  a classic i would daily. Not that i could afford it, but would daily 100%

Ok, fucknut, find me this: a car that has the low end tourque, reliability, cheapness of parts replacement, and comfort of this car. It may be 24 years old but not a single newer car outside of that platform has this. Some cars, as much as you hate compromise, need to be a compromise. The fwd GMs can do anlot more

Ignore the hate, in the end it’s a solid, cheap to maintain, comfortable beast that will give you many years of reliable service with basic maintenance. Interior electronics may go annoyingly wonky in time, often times can be ignored. I think people here forget every car doesn't need to be a eurosedan with a sports

Can affirm. Once flat towed an isuzu rodeo with a 93 Olds Ciera. 3300 Buick V6, relative to the 3800. They really do just about everything.

Currently have 2. 1989 ciera sedan and 1988 ciera XC coupe. The sedans are tough as nails, get better mileage than the wife's crossover, and parts are insanely cheap. Love the stupid things.

Buick Lesabre. Cheap to buy. Cheap to fix, relatively safe, not excessively powerful, and easily replaced when inevitably wrecked.

I actually got fed up with the stalk high beams so i installed a floor switch in my 89 ciera. Loved it.
