Yeah, it’s a stretch to put it mildly. But, given the point he was making, it probably has to slide.

Because it looks cool. It really doesn’t go any further than that, I think.
Snyder is a fantastic visualist, it’s hard to deny that. Problem is he can’t write, has no idea how to direct actors, and barely understands what makes a story work in the first place. He should be a cinematographer, not a director.
Because if you teach a bunch of 101 writers you need to break the rules, all you get are a bunch of incomprehensible “rule-breaking” screenplays. Film schools are already full of 18-year olds who come in thinking that their story with unmotivated characters and aimless plot will be an earth-shattering revelation to…
Ah. That makes more sense
I’m actually kind of impressed that all he’s asking for is a refund (plus legal fees). It almost makes me think he’s on the level. Still a nutcase, but at least a sincere nut case.
SHHHHH. The Mouse hears all, you know.
“The cynic in me says that Disney would put the kibosh on anything too overtly anti-corporate.”
Which is just phenomenally stupid to me. What’s the worst that happens? They get a handful of articles talking about Disney hypocrisy? Who cares? They’ll get just as many about how brave they are for putting the movie out.
And…
Everyone always thinks everyone wants to hear their opinion. Wealthy folks just have more opportunity to be heard.
I remember the 90s reboot of Dark Shadows being worth a watch too.
Battle of Winterfell was almost unwatchably dark, and streaming services do compress the shit out of everything, but you can’t discount the fact that most consumers never calibrate their settings at all.
Amen to this. All of it.
That may very well be a logistics issue-- their shows may not shrink down to smaller venues very easily.
There’s a lot more than you think. Virtually all the boomer artists do stadiums now. (Off the top of my head: Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Elton John, the Stones). And most of the gen X bands do arenas at least, sometimes stadiums too (Metallica, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, etc).
I seriously doubt the problem is a lack of fanbase. It’s the fact that they’re charging $200 for the cheapest tickets. That’s fucking insane.
It’s an expression.
Because you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting an “Anya” where you are?
Mad Max is essentially a much more idiosyncratic James Bond for me-- it reinvents itself each movie with little or no need for continuity between them (give or take Daniel Craig’s run). And that’s fine. Not everything has to be explained to an inch of it’s life or have Marvel-style continuity.
How about we just start with giving avatars back?
It’s not his fault. It’s been talked about a hundred times over on this site and elsewhere, but the short version is that it’s an armorer’s job to make sure a gun is safe, and while it’d be nice if actors using prop guns were also firearms experts, there’s no realistic way to expect that to happen.
