Not only thinking about but actively trying to increase said discomfort.

This looks terrible.

I haven’t researched it, but it’s entirely possible that she doesn’t have that power. If she’s producing her show under contract, then it’s the company hiring her (or her personal company) that has to be a signatory with the WGA. If that’s the case (likely, since this is a CBS show) they’re holding out, there’s not

Any company, at any time, can pull out of the AMPTP and make a deal with the WGA. That may in fact be the only way this clusterfuck ends- most likely scenario being the legacy studios abandoning Netflix/Amazon/Apple/etc, since their business models are vastly different anyways.

“four funny guys and Jimmy Fallon”

Extra points for username/comment synergy on that subtle burn.

I’ll take the hit here. Maher most definitely was that guy for a while, especially when he was the only real liberal who was willing to criticize his own side substantially, and I still watch the show because he still CAN be.

I mean, the obvious solution is that the studios should have actually been negotiating this whole time, instead of sitting on their asses trying to starve out the writers. Short of that, the government probably should have been called in to arbitrate and force the studios to act in good faith (again, by actually, you

The panel discussion is really the only thing that’s worth watching most of the time anyways. Maher’s “comedy” is perpetually stuck in the tone of the early 90s, no matter what the topic is, so the monologue and mid-panel bits are usually scroll-through time for me. New Rules can be funny at times, but I’d say it’s

Maybe?  I don’t really remember much of the particulars of that season other than the last episode.

You spelled “months” wrong.

Granted it’s the least important thing in this article, but Conan is most certainly not the “interviewee” on that clip, he’s the interviewer.

Also, the chance that this wasn’t just a joke on Conan’s part isn’t zero, but it’s pretty close. That’s very much in keeping with his delivery and general humor.

That always bothered me too.

We’ve been waiting for that since 1983.  Let’s not hold our collective breath.

Especially in a world of cloning. Why would the Empire be screwing around with “normal” soldiers if they could just clone Force-sensitive soldiers? Sure, you don’t want a million would-be Sith Lords running around, but pumping out legions of brian-washed mini-Carries sounds like a hell of a lot better option than a

Why do we consider this a good thing?  Why do fans always beg for the cool stuff to be explained?  It never satisfies.  Just let it be cool, FFS.

But it’s also much, much harder to get people to watch something original than to watch something based on existing IP, even for massive companies like Disney.

I don’t think that’s fair. He’s done some really cool things in his earlier movies. It Chapter 2 and The Flash are bloated messes, but those are script problems.  The camerawork in both of them are still strong.

I spotted the trend in the second season, which was already full of wheel-spinning. It was obvious that little girl was going to be in the barn.

Yeah, but Walking Dead only had one good season-- and it’s telling that it was the six episode one.  That’s all the material they ever had for any season, they just kept getting 20-episode orders and had to figure out how to fill them.

You asked why people hate him.  The people that don’t find him funny hate him for the reasons I explained.  I honestly don’t care one way or the other about Jimmy Fallon.  I haven’t watched the Tonight Show since Jay Leno was still the host (the first time).  I was just trying to answer the question.
