Jurassic Park III should be on the worst list, and Die Hard With A Vengeance belongs on the best. Sub out Godfather III and Mission Impossible III or Return of the King.  (MI:3 isn’t bad, it just isn’t as good as it looks when you’re not comparing it to the second one.  RotK doesn’t belong on the list at all- its not

Whereas Die Hard With A Vengeance isn’t on the list at all. If Last Crusade is on the list, DHWaV should be too.  I’d place them on equal tiers within their respective franchises.

I have no intention of watching this show, but I can only think that you’d have to cast someone as harmless and charming as Eugene Levy to make this insufferable concept even remotely palatable.

Seriously- take someone to the coolest/nicest/most interesting places on the planet, give them behind the scenes access, cushy

Nope.  I can see an argument for Hill House being better than Midnight Mass, but there is no world where Bly Manor should be above MM.  Entire list invalid.

What alternate dimension have I stumbled into where the DC Gods and Monsters “plan” sounds coherent or remotely logical to people?

A few things. VFX is one big part of it, especially for the tentpole stuff. I’m guessing it’s also quite complicated to line up the schedules of so many actors, most of whom have developed pretty strong careers (Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, and Simon Pegg are each in at least one other major franchise themselves, which

Gunn’s ideas for restarting the DCU don’t exactly inspire a ton of confidence either.  It still seems like the same “throw shit at the wall and see what sticks” approach that WB was taking up to this point.

I dunno.  The more I see of Rian Johnson, the more I think he was the perfect guy to follow in JJ Abrams’ footsteps.  Telling a complete, satisfying story for him is way less interesting than how clever he can seem.  (spoiler, he’s not as clever as he thinks)

Han shot. Period.

There’s no “first”.

Han shot, Greedo died, “Sorry about the mess.”

Let’s hope they stay rumors. Nothing against Ridley, who did all she could with some shitty material, but is there really anyone clamoring for more of that story after Rise of Skywalker?

It still takes two weeks (ok, technically 8-9 days) to shoot a network TV show.

Signed, a crew member on a network TV show.

No union contracts don’t specify how much people CAN work (at least not the crew contracts). There are no limits.

They specify when breaks SHOULD happen, and what the penalties will be if those breaks don’t come. Basically, it all comes down to paying people more.

You can one hundred percent work people a 19-hour day

Which is the dumbest place to cut yourself.  Hell, flip your hand over and cut the back of your hand if you must, but don’t make it hurt like hell every time you need to grip something.

This explains a great deal about this site

I came to the realization a while ago that the MCU is essentially a massively budgeted television show that only drops episodes 2-3x a year.

I didn’t really get the impression there was much peace in the intervening 30 years (thanks for the correction, btw), but then again I’ve done virtually no investigation into whatever nonsense Disney came up with to replace the Expanded Universe they trashed when TFA came out.  (Not that the EU was really all that

The Wonder Years is streaming on Hulu.

Legitimate branding concerns aside, I can actually see the value in having both of those things in one service, because households do have people with varied tastes. But the price point really couldn’t be much higher than what people already pay for HBO, because that’s already one of the highest prices in that market.

It’s like WB and Netflix are having a “hold my beer” competition on who can shoot themselves in the foot most effectively with their customer base.
