If you have pernicious anemia and not just a b12 deficiency there's an antibody they test for.

Your ISP got a block on google or something?

I thought the author explained it much better than I could :)

You know, I disagree, except with the part about their needing help — they absolutely do.

I do this too. I’m a therapist. I can’t help seeing all the sides!!

Me too! I took acidophilus supplements for a long time & ate a bunch of yogurt. I eat so much ice cream now!

I fail to see how Gloria Steinem appearing (or not) in a catalog has anything to do with feminism.

I did my abuse reporting training a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure how long the elderly have been protected that way. I've never had to make a report personally, but a colleague did recently and the response was immediate. I'm sure it varies depending on circumstances.

In California, elder or dependent adult abuse is taken very seriously. I'm wondering whether anyone made a report to DCFS.

I don’t know how old he is, but it sounds like this is reportable as elder or dependent adult abuse. Who knows if anything would come from the report, but I’d be calling ASAP if I ran into a situation like this (legally i’d have to).

I only have your comments to go by, but damn you seem like an excellent teacher.

When I was in 6th grade or so the girls liked to hide out in the bathroom sometimes during PE class, playing with lip gloss and such. Once, I was whispering with my best friend in there when one of our male classmates decided to start kicking the door and yelling into the bathroom at us. The only thing I remember him

Maybe people are upset because they knew and loved one of the tens of thousands of people who died while the Reagans looked the other way? Just one possibility.

I think full-on phobias are probably rare, but the fear of masked faces is really common, especially among kids. When you can’t read a person’s facial expressions you can’t judge their intentions, so the fear response is a defensive reflex.

I would suggest reflecting on why it bothers you when a woman shows her body.
