“The Government” isn’t one entity making decisions, it’s 50 states and countless municipalities making decisions on how best to move forward. Placed like New York will stay more locked up, places like... Georgia, I guess will be looser. There will be adjustments made over time towards getting the right mix, and there

Warm weather basically has little effect on this particular virus. Sunlight- sure. That helps. And since we have a dry season that has zero rain and clear skies for 6 months of the year that is good too. But for any other circumstance like people working indoors the virus will do just fine.

California, for a state of over 40 million has done comparatively ok. But overall our case count is still gradually growing. The area I live in has extended the stay at home order now through May. And even then who knows. A whole shit ton of idiots flooded our beaches this past weekend so I fully expect to see a spike

1. Liable, not libel

So what you’re telling these scientists is that you’ll take their data to create your own spin on it, but their professional interpretation of the scenario is of no use to you because it doesn’t align with your preferences. OK.

Those studies (assuming you’re talking about the USC and Stanford experiments) also had small sample sizes and were not representative of the community as a whole – for one thing they mainly tested for antibodies based on who saw a facebook post about the study and decided to show up. Also the scientists themselves

Until we have universal healthcare, people will have no choice but to use the ER as a doctor’s office.

Here is my problem: Its not like the first wave is even remotely close to being over. Here in California there has been an average of over 1000 new cases. Every single day. The reality is that those are just reported cases and the liklihood is there’s far more actual cases.  Opening up right now seems like a desperate

I am not sure where your facts are from. At least the data I have read from the White House briefings and the Coronavirus task force briefings had a clear caveat that the numbers are based on the lockdowns and social distancing measures in place AT THAT TIME. It was also clearly mentioned that the numbers would go up

It’s not. The virus is just knocked down, not out. It’s still out there and will continue to spread until there is a vaccine.

Not even close to done. States will be trying to cope with the right balance for the rest of the year and there will be outbreaks.

Or people are doing the best they can given imperfect information and tools.

Yes, it ended up not being needed. Good job.

A lot of folks commenting here don’t seem to realize this pandemic isn’t over.

Hindsight is a hell of a thing.

The overall NY hospital system was able to handle the load and the Comfort was largely not needed due to the distancing measures in place. There’s nothing missing here, things just ended up better than expected.

Still, the idea was well-meaning, in that it’s better to be overprepared.

Whatever car you have now has at last 20-40% Chinese parts in it, plastics, engine parts...etc.
