I don’t see how rotoscoping looks dated, it never really enjoyed mainstream trend status, it just pops up from time to time when a director feels like putting in the time to do it. Scanner Darkly ages really well in my opinion.

Watching the trailer, the rotoscoping began to almost feel completely unnecessary, until hinting that this might be really good? Always liked Richard Linklater.

And you couldn’t tell this by... looking at him for a few seconds?

Yeah, if she was a CHEG major when she dropped out as a second year, she would have had, what, two semesters of general chemistry, intro to engineering, two of calculus, and maybe one semester of organic chemistry, at the most?

 I think that one professor who let her in his graduate program may have been the push she needed to believe she was an unstoppable genius. She solved one problem in his lab, and next thing you know she’s in his program, and I think she got him to invest in Theranos.

Of course Catwoman keeps coming back. It’s a sexy woman in a form-fitting outfit that spends most of their time being sexy and usually wear cat ears. And usually wields a whip. Of course she would come back in most adaptations.

At the risk of self-indulgence, I’m gonna pop down here for whoever is poking around in the comments section to say that this is my last A.V. Club review. (I believe that’s the case for everyone writing an A.V. Club movie review this week.) This is really more of a farewell-toned piece, ICYMI:

This looks good, but I’m sure it would be better if David Bowie were alive to reprise his role.

Ejiofor and Nighy make me kind of want to see this though.

I thought it was funny. And it indirectly addressed them not showing up to fight Starro in TSS.

The big question is what they’ll do for the season 2 opening credits. Same song? Same dance with new characters? Or will they come up with something else just as mind blowing? Will Eagly find his mark right away?

Freddie Stroma. He was also the first version of Dickon Tarly in GoT. I just wanted an excuse to write Dickon, hehe. He was also the asshat Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter.

There was also a line early on where he said something like, “I haven’t had sex in 4 years. Well, not with a woman.”
