As someone who was there for the original JP film and loved it, I haven’t really been paying attention to these Jurassic World films. I’ve seen parts of them. Oh, but now with the original cast back together? They got me with the nostalgia feels. I think I’ll see this one.

I don’t get the hate either. I don’t think it’s Oscar material, but I laughed my ass off throughout. Meryl Streep as Donald Trump 2.0? Every single thing Timothee Chalamet says? “Sir, can I just be vulnerable in your car for a minute?”

Yeah, I don’t get all the criticism either. I was interested in seeing it from the start but held off because I heard so many negative things. Once I did see it, I really enjoyed the plot, the satire, the acting. Did I bust a gut laughing? No. But a lot of it was funny, and the ending has stuck with me for weeks. All

Too much hate for Don’t Look Up. It’s no masterpiece but I thought it was fun.

Vonnegut did a good job describing the devolution of humans in Galpagos...

with pretty much only the first movie still having any kind of relevance—and that’s mostly just because of its ending”

There's a guy on the current WWE roster named Kevin Owens who is a fat guy, no mincing words on it. And his cardio seems ridiculous. He moves fast and never seems gassed. (They tried to push him into weight loss and he pushed back.)

Your point is entirely taken. You are 100% correct.

Definitely not. I actually saw this Dateline (I have a problem) and her dress size had exactly zero to do with the story.  In fact all I remember are some of the bare details of what happened - I couldn’t begin to tell you what any of the people involved looked like.

I don’t think a fat suit is inherently problematic. Sometimes actors have to use makeup or prosthetics to look like the character they’re playing. That’s part of the job, and saying that they should hire an actor who looks more like the character isn’t a logical solution every time.

Too bad Hyde died on his way back to his home planet.

It directed me to that banana video, so absolutely 100% yes it is warranted.

JFC. What a beautiful story.

I think it was Robert Pattinson who observed that actors only seem to “go method” to play jerks. No one does a deep dive into the psyche of a nice person and just goes around being charitable and treating everyone super kindly.

In case you’re still on the fence, I’d suggest waiting. The show changes a fair amount of plot points from the book, some for the better and others for the worse. But to me it also falls short in trying to replicate some of the feel of the book while also trying to have the look and feel of prestige TV, which often

(It’s not inflation, either)

To be fair, the ‘OMG INFLATION!’ coverage is really bad also.

I saw the special. It was good. It’s basically a really good comedy set. Not that deep. Actually a little refreshing. Not every comedy special needs to make a bold statement.

Floppy dicks are ancient tech. It’s all about streaming now.   :D
