It was just so sad and stupid. He hates having to kill this creature, and then he botches the job in a way that increases its suffering. It was horrible.

That’s just bull shit. Every good thing that has ever happened was because someone complained. I can vote because women before me bitched about not being able to vote. I can wear pants in public for the same damn reason. Complaining is GOOD.
So, some movies are too long (edit already) and others are too short (barely a movie). Is this the example of the movie that is both at the same time?
And we don’t even really know Alicent’s age. All we know is that she was close friends with Ryaenyra. That does not mean that they are exactly the same age. Alicent could easily be 2-3 years, maybe even 4 years, older, which would put her at the same age she was in the books, 19. Mind you, 19 is the age of Diana…
I’m going to go with wrong. It’s not as though you have to pick only one show to watch. At this episode release rate, you can watch both shows and still have ~166 hours left each week for other things.
What the heck was going on in the tapestry/mural on the wall of Alicent’s sitting room (or maybe bed chamber)? It looked like some extremely explicit erotica.
Diana Spencer was 19 when she got engaged to Charles. I’m putting Alicent at around 17 when she got engaged (19 in the books, mind you). That’s young, sure, but not all that young considering the setting, or even for a modern day royal marriage.
Yes, well, it was not going to take an awful lot to convince me, so I suppose 6 hrs and 20 minutes from now--the moment it becomes available--I will watch this.
I did not realize there were still people who watched TV “live”, unless it’s sporting events I suppose. Even my 80-year-old mother does not consume episodic TV that way.
Beat me to it.
If the average age of current viewers is really 58, doesn’t that mean that the 58 years olds watching the CW right now like the programs that are currently being produced by CW? If they wanted to watch CSI or some shit they could be doing that on another network. I think your best bet is to continue to cater to the…
I did not mean to sound adversarial, just conversational. Agree that there are places to swim, and they don’t have to be north of the city.
And I guess she and I have in common trying to swim in the cities we visit. I always try to get a swim in with the local masters swim group or an open water swim if possible. Swimmers gonna swim.
I swim just South of the city at National Harbor. We do not have to wade through any garbage.
I swim in the Potomac on a regular basis. There is an official open water swimming program that meets three times a week at National Harbor. We swim Sunday mornings, so maybe she joined us. The water is tested regularly, and it’s fine. Pete Buttigieg also occasionally joins the group. You can see his secret service…
I gave this book to my Dad after reading and enjoying it.
There are seven people whose faces are showing in the header photo and five names. Why?
Parenthood really is a great movie. It accurately captures the kind of helpless love you feel for your child.
I watched it last night, and thought it was quite good (for a movie to watch at home on a lazy Saturday night). Howard really is a lovely director to watch. I liked that it did not try to make an already extremely dramatic event even more dramatic and maudlin. (Spoilers for people who are not aware of recent events…
I watched it last night, and it did not feel long. I did not check the running time going in, but I never felt like it was lagging.
