I have never heard so much defeat condensed into three words.

I scheduled it as part of an in-house blizzard movie festival a few years ago when we were snowed in for about a week (seriously, it took several days just to clear our very long driveway, and that was with heavy machinery). The Thing, The Shining, Snowpiercer, then back to work shoveling and chopping wood.

My husband delayed leaving for work this morning because he had to watch me watch this interview. My reaction? Surely no one is shocked the Quintin Tarantino has excellent taste in movies, although the tidbit about it being sort of an inspiration for parts of Reservoir Dogs was interesting.

What thinking person called it a moron movie? I saw in the theatre when it came out in the 80s, and grasped it’s greatness immediately.

He gets cast as a cop, because he looks like a cop, or a handsome film idea of a cop, maybe a stripper cop.

He gets astonishing work out of his actors. He finds profound vulnerability in everyone.

Best line delivery of the movie, or best line delivery ever?

There is something to be said for no Snow White adaptation having a sequel, because fairytales do not need sequels. I wanted Mirror Mirror to be a little better than it was, but I was never disappointed with what he was trying to do. The costumes were great.

Julia Roberts played the evil queen in Mirror Mirror. She fits the bill pretty well.

And it was reasonably entertaining. I wish he had gone more Bollywood with it, rather than saving that for the end, but it was fun to look at and never boring. Could have been better edited.

Actually I was thinking of Mirror Mirror, but whatever.

No, you would assume, correctly, that she died long enough ago that we can actually process her death and approach it from an angle other than just shock and sadness.

My generation’s Kennedy assassination was the Challenger disaster.

I brought the book with my to a birthday party my daughter had to attend (this would have been Sunday of that weekend), the other parents all looked annoyed that they had not thought to do the same thing. What else were we going to do at Gymboree? Anyway, I started to cry when Dobby died, and then quickly went outside.

I’m amused by people saying they came late to Harry Potter meaning they first encountered the series in their teens. I first encountered it in my late 30s, when I had a child who had just gotten old enough to ask me to read it to her. Later that year the Order of the Phoenix movie came out, and after that, the final

I think they are believable as siblings. She got away from their hometown and has been living a healthy life. Him, not so much.

I read the story after knowing it was the source material for what looked like a promising horror movie, so I guess I knew there was going to be something like that. However, I remember the story including stuff fairly early on (it’s not very long) that could only be explained by the supernatural, certainly once you

It’s not bad. I was watching it with my husband and he was like “this is funny, why didn’t you tell me this is funny?” And was like, “why did you think it wasn’t going to be funny?” It’s not a masterpiece or anything, but it’s a fun watch with plenty of jokes that land.

Wow. I just had a comment removed from FB for the first time. The comment was regarding Bladerunner 2049. I said “it was outstanding”. Someone flagged it as not meeting community standards, and FB took it down. I mean, I get that people can disagree about Bladerunner 2049, but deleting my comment seems a bit extreme.

Jennifer Aniston became a pretty big, bankable movie star. Perhaps faded a bit with age, but that is most certainly not her fault. She’s a woman in Hollywood.
