The grisliest. Holy crap. I’m still scarred by that damn story. Who the fuck puts “pony” in the title and then writes THAT?

OK, but I am having trouble connecting where the show is with what happens in Testaments. I feel like they are on an alternative timeline.
In his case it feels particularly weird, because his public persona and humor were so at odds with what he was actually doing. In so many ways, he lead us to believe that the art was the artist.
What happens next depends on whether you are a protostome or a deuterostome.
I would definitely not put the latter three, particularly Dawkins, in with Bill Maher. Have you read any of Dawkins’ books? I teach The Selfish Gene and the Ancestor’s Tale every year (I’m a Biochemistry professor).
I was excited for this anyway, but heh, a little talking fox! I’m down with that too.
It’s CPR.
Would it be legal to perform CPR on her, because that is essentially what the kiss is. The prince is administering a life-restoring medical intervention. Was she wearing a “do not resuscitate” bracelet?
It’s hard for to rate Arrival solely as a sci fi movie, because it was such an incredibly good movie about the meaning of parenthood. Same with Interstellar.

Is it supposed to be funny? Pratt does funny mixed with action quite well. Straight up action? I’m going to have a hard time with that.
At the end of this movie, I turned to my then young daughter and said through copious tears “You’re never leaving home”.
Was Larry McMurtry there? He won an Oscar and wrote many a famous screenplay. For some reason he was not received and AV Club obit (unless I missed it).
Like my ex-husband who just could not deal with a black woman in the role of Lady Macbeth because of “historical accuracy”. I was, like, there are witches in this play that can predict the future through magic. How accurate is that?
The title of the review reminds me of a friend’s response to “Titanic”. She said it was like Cameron thought the actual story of the Titanic just wasn’t dramatic enough, and he needed to spice it up with sex and gunplay.
“A Russian woman who transforms into a bear monster and works for an evil Christian missionary is totally thrown off by Yasuke’s presence.”
Up until this moment, that never occurred to me, but of course the copy licensed for rental would be more expensive. Still, that would be felony theft, not embezzlement.
