Close. He was trying to destroy Lavos, yes, but for his own selfish reasons. He couldn't have cared less about the fate of the world; he only wanted to kill Lavos for ruining his own life and that of his sister, Schala.

That's a pretty good read, but ultimately just a fan-written piece of over-thinking. The game itself never says whether or not the Prophet was present when the first event occurred that sent Janus to the Middle Ages. What it DOES say is hinted at through bits of dialogue, like Schala saying how her mother had started

I'd say he's more villain than hero, since his reasons for fighting Lavos are entirely selfish (revenge for what he saw his mom become). Plus he kills and ruins the lives of a LOT of innocent people to reach that point.

True, but they weren't good intentions... they were entirely selfish. He saw Lavos as being the reason his mom went insane when he was a child, as well as what sent him forward to the Middle Ages. He wanted to summon Lavos himself so he could kill it, not to save humanity, but to get revenge for ruining his life. His

After you fight him, you find him again in 10,000 BC in Zeal. He takes up the guise of a wandering sorcerer to convince the Queen to get close enough to Lavos, in a mad attempt to try and defeat it himself. You also find out the young blue-haired boy walking around Zeal is actually Magus at a young age.

I think he was about halfway between a hero and villain, which is one of the main reasons why I think he's the best. He was a walking time paradox, being the catalyst for both what happens to Schala and what sends his own child self back to the middle ages. As far as the space-time continuum goes, Magus simply should

He was walking the very fine line between villain and hero.

Just about the only thing the two have in common is the artist who draws them.

Hey Kotaku, I'm really happy for you, and I'mma let you finish...

Of course not! According to that article, we can expect mobile gaming to completely consume all other forms of interactive entertainment! A glorious future of broken touchscreen controls and fifty Angry Birds sequels. Y'know: PROGRESS.

I went to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia. Technically it was the Sequential Art major, which encompassed all forms of storytelling art: comics, graphic novels, comic strips, manga, and animation storyboards.

Hehe, yeah. You can take solace in knowing that you're not the only one who thought that when they heard about the major.

Well, technically it's a Sequential Art major, which encompasses all forms of comics and manga. But you know having a major in comics was just a glowing beacon for amateur manga artists.

I think the comics and manga industries as a whole, internationally, are pretty much stuck in the over-sexualization of characters. It's become pretty much a standard practice. I have friends who have done professional character/comic work and were specifically told that their already-buxom and scantily-clad women

I knew a girl in college who looked exactly like Elizabeth, and was even heavy into cosplay too.

Yep. It's pretty much a social network based around Tweet-size texts and pixel doodles. Pretty genius idea overall.
