How are lenders even letting this shit happen? I’m on the market for a house in a hot market and nearly every lender is requiring buyers to cover the appraisal gap because the offers are so much higher than the house is really worth - i.e. super risky investment.

Probably not as most colleges only see dollar signs. I have to imagine these undereducated students basically recreating what our current political climate is (minority conservative rule) through the same bad faith tactics until these colleges and universities are dumbed down as well. 

If I had the time and resources I would maintain a database of school districts where this bullshit is happening and make it available to every college and university in the US to use when looking at applicants.
