I think it’s from the old Star Wars Droids cartoon from the 80's. The artwork looks similar anyway.

I live in cougar and bear territory (no grizzlies thankfully) and as a general rule, adults have little to fear from either. I often travel with snack size humans though, so I keep a gun and some bear spray handy just in case.
About once a year you hear a story around here about a cougar sneaking up on a campsite…
It looks like this just bans “gag clauses” in contracts but doesn’t necessarily outright ban suing for negative reviews. That’s a good thing, since it should probably still be legal to sue for outright defamation.
It’s probably never actually a good idea to sue from a PR standpoint no matter how big of a lie it is,…
I’ve deescalated multiple times by talking to the dog like it was a cute little puppy. I swear it screws with their head that you should be afraid but you aren’t. On the other hand, if it’s truly a feral dog, throwing rocks is usually a good option.
Mandolines are evil. Get a kevlar glove for ~$10 and throw away the safety guard.
Aeroflot actually has been one of the nicer airlines I’ve ever flown on. There are a few other Russian carriers though (Utair) that I’ll never get on again without my own O2 and a parachute.
WD-40 actually works awesome for removing crayon from hard surfaces including computer monitors. I learned this when someone let their little monster loose in my office after hours with access to crayons.
I’m still a fan of print for kids’ books and non-fiction. It’s still easier for me to skim, browse, and make annotations in a paper book. I do like classics of my favorite books in print if I come across a nice hardbound edition. That’s more of a collecting thing, than a reading preference thing though.
Each of the components has great documentation. I installed Plex for the backend and for streaming to other devices, Kodi w/ the Plex & NextPVR plugins runs the frontend on the actual HTPC. MCEBuddy basically just watches your recordings directory then runs the profile you set up when it sees new files.
I prefer to do my reencodes in the middle of the night, but this would work if you have a really nice CPU that could keep up.
I’ve still been using Kodi w/ the Plex plugin mostly because of the DVR features. Once this feature becomes more mature (live tv locally, auto commercial skipping, reencoding) it’ll be nice to switch to just one program.
Right now I use Kodi to record and watch, then I have an MCEBuddy script that cuts out…
Somebody start a kickstarter for the hydraulic press guys to buy one.
I want a lightsaber somewhere in the new Disney movies with the start up and running noise at :45 seconds. Make it a grey-side force user who’s a complete badass.
Traveling with CPAP sucks. It especially sucks if you need to sleep somewhere without power.
Pretty much. Either that or something along the lines of, “Does a DC15 Dex check sound fair? OK? Roll.”
How does a reaver clean his spear after a fight?
I was always taught that ideally you’d try to run somewhere visible before you pass out, or failing that use a chair back to give yourself the heimlich.
I was friends with the current Russian olympic modern pentathalon coach when I spent some time over there years ago. Watching them train was pretty cool. I should ask him off the record how bad they were doping back then.
If you’re willing to DM, you will always be able to find players. That’s how I’ve had to do it. I started out as a DM before I was a player. Arguably, that’s not the best strategy, but if you have a hard time finding a group, it works.
Pro tip: You can microwave leftover cookies for 10-15 seconds to revive that warm, gooey, greatness. For multiple cookies, start with 10 seconds then rotate and cook in increments of 5 seconds. It takes some practice.
