Greetings from the post-apocalyptic frozen hellscape that is the south. Let me tell you a bit about my day:

I think tomorrow I'm going to write an in depth piece about my favorite samples in hip-hop. This song will be featured, even though the song it was sampled on is kind of shitty...

Schools were canceled, businesses closed early, DOT salted the road, and not one damn snowflake. Good ol' South Carolina. It's "supposed" to snow 3-5 inches tonight, so we're doing it all again tomorrow, yay.

Rest in peace, Pete.

I thank you. I'm in Macon, about an hour down I-75 from Atlanta. Atlanta's got school kids that may not make it home because they waited to late to get the school buses going. They closed our schools her on Monday for today and tomorrow and my job close at 3:00 today, going to be closed tomorrow.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I wasn't questioning their ethics in regard to their brand, which in retrospect was a bit irresponsible on my part. I was just offering my criticism on their approach. And no, I don't think any of the money they sought would have otherwise gone to a charitable organization.

Might as well chime in. The whole purchasing of the Rob Ford video, to me, was appalling. I could be wrong, but from what I remember they were soliciting donations to buy the tape; a tape that would make a bad man's bad life even worse.

We have a winner in GoGetYourShinebox, with That Thing You Do.

Jacked off with toothpaste. (You asked!)

All the "chess match" rhetoric aside, I love nothing more than watching a lazy, midsummer baseball game. There's something satisfying about doing jack, trying to stay cool, drinking beer, and enjoying a great pitchers' duel. It's the one thing I miss most living in San Antonio, TX. I try to make it to an MLB city at

These are supposed to be cool kids? I'd hate to see the un-cool kids.

No more work, no more shoveling, dinner's in the oven — have a good night, everyone.

It kind of amazes me how many songs I now love were introduced to me by The Sopranos. In my eyes it's the show that best knew how to make a song enhance a scene. The previously posted Four Seasons song and that line in particular perfectly underscores the episode it's featured in. Here's another.

Gotta love YLT. The run of Electr-o-Pura to I Can Hear... to And Then Nothing... made them one of the best bands of the 90s.

In 1967 Kenny Rogers formed The First Edition. After a couple of years the name was changed to Kenny Rogers & The First Edition. Kenny went solo in 1973. I've always preferred his songs with The First Edition.

Ha ha, you do realize a CB is a DB. No? Of course you don't.

Well not the worst...
