"One of us, one of us, gooble-gobble gooble-gobble, one of us!"
"One of us, one of us, gooble-gobble gooble-gobble, one of us!"
Good track, I think the only thing I had heard off of this album before was Kick, Push, which I listened to quite a bit back around the time this came out.
This is definitely a solid power ballad. If I were forced to pick a Skid Row song to listen to this would certainly be it.
Excellent song. I also love this movie, as I do everything that PTA does. This song is featured in the final scene of the movie, which happens to be one of my favorite scenes in any of his movies. It probably seems insignificant to someone who hasn't seen the movie, but the song playing over their conversation, making…
Any and everything. I should have reworded that but it's too late to edit now.
As for the book, I wasn't aware that even existed. I've heard interesting stories about the man that seem to highlight how unconventional he was for his times. What about this book would you say helped you with your life?
Pop Culture Therapy DUAN
Interesting. I've also heard it restricts their ability to be-physical-out-there.
A pretty harsh opinion for a man who spent his entire career with his hands under a fatty.
I must remember to thank the folks at Kinja for implementing that nifty dismiss button. I already used it on him once in this very same thread.
Paul always wrote one song per record for Ringo, or so I've heard.
A few submissions that I've been partial to at one time or another in my life...
This one is fairly well known, and the video is also kind of "cute"
I had an ex that was a Beatles fanatic and forced me to watch A Hard Days Night, and that is an aspect of the Beatles' early years that I never understood either. I mean, in all fairness, none of those four young guys were particularly handsome, and I would go so far as to call a few of them rather homely (I'm looking…
I enjoy sharing music I like as well as experiencing artists/songs that are new to me, and in the past I have gotten a lot of good music suggestions from here, so I tend to lean more towards the musical aspect of DUAN, but as Erg already illustrated better than I could, it's pretty much whatever you want to discuss.
Excellent choice, Mr. Marchman. I'll follow your lead with this gem. Love this song.
MBV is certainly not for everyone, I know the first time I heard it I really didn't get it. As cliche as it sounds, it took me taking a bunch of shrooms and listening to Loveless on repeat to really finally dig it, and to this day Loveless is one of my favorite albums. The lyrics don't really matter, it's all about…
Slowdive are one of the definitive shoegaze bands. This is one of their best songs, IMO.
I agree Panda Bear's next album after this (Tomboy) was not nearly as good. I realize Person Pitch was a lot to live up to, but it didn't come anywhere near the sane magic as this album.
AC is great. At first I only really liked a few songs and didn't find their music to be very accessible, but at this point I've…
"Yeah, Alfred, I'm aware it doesn't look like a bat, okay? At least I'm using the Gembroidery kit Dad got me, so don't belittle my hobbies you son of a bitch."
I love a good mashup. On this one, however, I'd have to differ. Something about the sound of Madonna's vocals doesn't quite mesh with the music for me, it just sounds kind of awkward and out of tune to me.
For what it's worth, here's one of my favorite mashups:
