Yeah, The Wire kind of set a benchmark for profanity. If you can handle that you can handle anything.

From what I understand, this is probably one of the best known songs by one of the best known groups from that era. I enjoy old tunes very much but since I'm so disconnected from that time due to my age, I tend to only hear "new"(to me) old songs from television or movies, which is a big reason why I enjoy your posts…
Big Mouth Billy Bass made me hate this song prematurely when I was a youngster. Luckily, Talking Heads redeemed it for me later on in my life.
Oh god how could I forget about this scene and the Chi-Lites!? Honestly, if it had come to my mind I would have posted this but there's just so many choices. Love this scene. The little things that make this scene are why Gandolfini is, to me, one of the greatest actors of all time. Great choice.
And one more example.
It kind of amazes me how many songs I now love were introduced to me by The Sopranos. In my eyes it's the show that best knew how to make a song enhance a scene. The previously posted Four Seasons song and that line in particular perfectly underscores the episode it's featured in. Here's another.
We can't change the places where we were born
Good evening, ladies and germs.
Ann Wilson's Star-Sprinkled Butter
Throw some Gorilla Glue on that son of a bitch, good as new.
I was hoping The Wire would come up. You done good.
Growing up, I had a copy of The Song Remains the Same on VHS that we pretty much wore out. This was always the highlight, and remains one of my favorite Zep songs.
Scarlett Johansson made me appreciate this song more, for the obvious reasons.
Never watched this show before. Seasons 4+ of Weeds made me a bit wary of Showtime's programming. Whiskey, weed, and Warren Zevon are certainly a good endorsement though, so perhaps I'll check it out.
Anyone who's ever seen Deadwood knows that in between the rampant profanity are moments of profound sincerity and sage wisdom. This scene is just one of those things that has always stuck with me, and I think it's a good sentiment to live by. Anyone who likes the show, but especially those that have not seen it,…
That it is. This album has a sound I've never heard replicated by anybody, not even other MBV albums.
You must be new here.
Arrg, avast, ye matey.
I'm probably going to watch it tomorrow, unfortunately it won't be in a theatre *cough cough*. I've already been listening to the soundtrack a ton (which is awesome), so I'm excited to finally have a little context to the songs.
