For me, I found that using a bike instead of a kart introduced a new set of challenges and allowed friends to actually start coming in first. Worth a try if you’re like me and don’t have any friends willing to try anymore. :X

I agree with most of what you said, but even if melee and hacking are “so optimal” (I would say overpowered) why do you feel like everything else is irrelevant? Driving around and shooting fools is still a fun way to play.
To me the most quintessential 90's movies are The Crow, The Craft, and Hackers. I am shocked that The Craft did not get any shouts from those Twitter followers.

The improved load times are a huge boon. Yakuza Like a Dragon had something like a 3 minute initial load previously, now it’s about 5 seconds.

Fun fact: Controller sharing actually was already a feature on Mixer! It was introduced in early 2018 and went away along with the rest of Mixer in mid 2020.
