Ys 8 is great and deserves more recognition!

JRPGs haven’t really been hiding, it just sounds like you’re not a fan of turn-based combat which is very common for the genre. Additionally, I also wish I could have the feeling that games gave me 15 years ago.

Thankfully each of these games is pretty self-contained so you can generally start with the latest game and be good to go (except for SMT 4: Apocalypse which is a sequel to SMT 4).

The Japan rumor has been going with every new game since Horizon 2. I’m sure the devs know that people want it, and I’m sure they will make it eventually.

The game definitely could do a better job of highlighting the Filters feature. Like I don’t think it ever explains that the filter applies to basically the entire game, not just the map screen.

The problem for me with BL2 is that the story was emphasized much more than it was in BL1. In 1 you rarely get anyone stopping your forward progress for more than 30 seconds, in 2 it happens constantly. 

Interesting, that thought never even occurred to me. Like it’s clearly “Garage”, they aren’t using some weird font to make that ambiguous.

It’s available right now at $15/mo via Game Pass Ultimate. If they introduce a Cloud-only option I can imagine that being $10/mo to match the Console-only and PC-only options that exist today.

Mixer was pretty great overall, and the situation with Shroud and Ninja showed that viewers care more about watching something on Twitch than watching their favorite streamer.  It was interesting to see.

The way Jeff has talked about things, it sounds like he wants to grow Giant Bomb as a business, and Red Ventures giving them “attention and thought that it has not had in a long time” probably means that this is going to be possible. Vinny, Alex, and Brad splitting off to do something much simpler kinda shows to me…

Giant Bomb is a personality-driven website about video games, primarily featuring video content. They’ve been doing it since before Twitch existed.

They’re not doing the same thing as GB though. They’re just doing a podcast and Twitch streams.
