Online play got confirmed a couple months ago, so I’m thinking this is actually something different.

You’re right, the XBox One does already have 8-cores; I totally forgot about that. With increased power all-around I’m sure it can do 4k @ 30FPS fairly easily, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for 60 outside of games that are relatively simplistic graphically.

Well, they’re talking about an 8-core CPU. They’re also not saying 4k is going to run at 60 FPS.

No chance. You’re not going to see a console that can play games at 4k for a while still. I mean, unless they are graphically pretty basic.

Doubtful! We’ll definitely see a quality difference in games designed with the 4.5 in mind. It’ll be the same as if you were to choose Low vs High detail settings in a PC game, or if you’re playing new games on an iPhone from 2 years ago vs one from this year.

Overwatch has 12 actual maps.

I mean, I’m in the camp that thinks the game needs more maps, but it’s got 12 right now, not 4.

They might have been trying to avoid having another sword-user on the cast since it looks like there’s 4 of them already.

I wondered about this in the beginning, remembering the infamous Doom fanfic’s “John, you are the demons” and wondering if the writers had taken inspiration from that. As you play I think it becomes pretty clear that this isn’t the case. You are the Doom Slayer and shit’s gone bad again on Mars.

There is a story there, and all the threads hinting at what is written above are in the game. Personally, I was intrigued from the moment the game began and I realized the doomguy had just emerged from a sarcophagus. I was surprised, but I really did want to know more and happily ate it up.

It’s one of the most true-to-life RPG-style shows out there, at least compared to every D&D group I’ve ever been a part of.

Yeah, Nightmare is unlocked from the start but it’s red and placed apart from the other difficulties. I thought it was locked my first time through as well.
