Pristine meh cars are fantastic.  Somebody needs to buy and preserve this worthless gem.

To be honest its probably not all that useful beyond denying warranty claims anyways.  Its best its gone.  I dont think my mechanic needs to know where my injector failed, just that it did and I need a new one.

The right to repair stuff cannot come into fruition at the federal level soon enough.

Auto stop/start. From what I can tell it really doesn’t impact overall fuel economy that much and just makes for jerky starts at stoplights and stop and go traffic. It’s an automatic motion for me now to turn it off when I start the car.

Either that or it’s a swear jar for when you have to take it in for service.

It wasn’t caused by bad policy or bad procedure, but by a lack of knowledge? The fuck does that even mean (nothing, I know). The policies and procedures were correct, we just didn’t know what the policies or procedures were and we didn’t follow them? Is that somehow better?

RE finance people: If by “work for a living”, you mean try to sell me a bunch of crap I don’t need or want. The actual loan approval process is just a matter of uploading the borrower’s info to the lender and then having them sign the standard forms the system spits out. Not much work at all if you aren’t trying to

This headline is very misleading, and bordering on irresponsible.

Did you not read this part:

Because it isn’t their Vibe...

I thought that trend died in the early 90’s, but it looks like it lived until the early 2010’s.

“beige vinyl roof” is right in the first sentence. Hope I die before I get old. ND

You probably had to yell in German.

That is just lovely.

Perhaps a Brazilian or South African variant of the US-spec 412?

And she own an insurance brokerage. Down here the most common jobs (and with high turnover) you see are insurance brokers and real estate agents.

This isn’t an electric car problem, its a current problem with current EV’s. Their removal of physical and mechanical controls for mechanical functions adds more room for error and disaster. Something like this would never happen in a manual transmission car.

Gonna get buried, but the issue here isn’t that the car is stuck in park mode with the brakes engaged.

I wonder even for those cars that default to neutral, do the parking brakes still work? Can be just as troublesome. The nice thing about cable operated parking brakes, they work without power.

Not Just EV. Pretty much anything with push-buttons for PRND. A friend of mine had a BMW suddenly shut off in the middle of the road. Without the computer on you can’t get it in to neutral. It looked to be on but it was pretty much completely bricked.
