They did it as it’s routine. The only change was giving an actual timescale rather than indefinite.

Vehicle prices have to make sense first.

That may be true - but anyone who drives 400+ miles with one 5 minute gas stop must be driving in a car brimming with piss-filled gatorade bottles.

It wont work for me because it starts at $70k after tax credits.

Generally, yes. There are clear instructions and most fire departments are proactive and train for this kind of thing.

This EV won’t work for me because the commute to my job is 20 miles each way and once I get there they don’t give me enough money to buy this car.

At some point range is going to be looked at like horsepower. Anything over 300 is unneeded.

electric bits replacing the gas bits"

The finished product still looks pretty weird though.

Besides, if anyone were paying attention, they’d know there is a worldwide taillight shortage keeping startups from meeting their delivery dates.

They should have just integrated them into the panel gaps:

They definitely will not be producing enough of these to ever be considered for fleet vehicles.

My dad (who learned to drive near Erie PA) always wanted a 2WD pickup with LSD for snow work.  He would put sand bags in the back to increase traction.  His thing was that the higher ground clearance of the truck allowed it to go through snow drifts and the like easier than a car.

My 4x4 truck with ATs sure does better in than my fwd Camry. Someone in those comments also said you can’t drive in 4wd, which is bologna.

Who is running their tires at max PSI??

Dude, you just confirmed Godwin’s Law.

The bridge really ought to be raised,

I think you should edit that headline. The bridge didn’t destroy the cars. The jackass driving the truck did.

I’ve been under that bridge several times and it amazes me that people can’t seem to figure it out. Even if the signs weren’t there... how do you not see that and not have second thoughts about driving huge box trucks and car haulers through there? I mean... I just don’t get it.
