Assuming the undercarriage hasn’t rotted under the previous owner’s care, and the mechanicals are solid - this is a really good price. The radio is not an issue, and maybe the rust on the hatch can be addressed before it becomes too much.

These were the “performance” cars that cool upper middle class kids in my high school would drive when their dad handed it down after buying a 944 when he got that big promotion at work. Seriously I think there were 5 of these in my senior class size of 120 people. Either this or a Prelude, and one kid had Formula 350…
Friend had one of these in college, one night we were having some fun and for whatever reason the owner allowed his buddies to take the Celica to the local burger joint (4 hamburgers for a dollar if I remember right). Anyway, can an early 80s Celica do donuts in a restaurant parking lot? Why yes, yes it can, and very…
Yeah, this is NP all day long.
Even with the rear rust I’d have to agree that it’s NP. These puppies go on and on and on... And manual. Swoon.
That’s what the hell money for a solid, comfortable little sportish hatch that doesn’t have that much to go wrong with it.
My mom had one of these before I was born, had to trade it in for something with four doors and settled on a Ford Tempo, in that delicious beige/pink fawn color that was so 80s.
Also when I sold it a couple of years ago I absolutely submitted it to this very feature, and our friend Rob declined to pick it up. So one of ya’ll missed out on picking up this 80s gem for more than $1000 less than the current asking price.
A Celica fastback with a good interior and a set of aftermarket rear window louvers for $3800 gets you an evocative old car that you can drive every day. Good buy!
So... that’s my car. Sold it about two years ago. I daily drove it for about two years prior to that, but didn’t have anywhere to store it when I went to a newer car.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Big Nice Price for an early 80's unicorn. The interior condition alone makes this car a gem at $3,800 even if it might need some mechanical sorting.
I’m so glad this already sold. No one will be able to call my bluff when I say “shut up and take my money!” I had an ‘84 Celica GT liftback, and I LOVED that car until 21 upstate New York winters turned the rear of it into Swiss cheese. This one has the factory 14x7 aluminum wheels and fancy seats, but the GT-S…
Second trip around would be 1.1 million miles. This is absolutely one of those fun “slow car driven fast” type of vehicles. Not many options these days for the 225/60R14's, but that’s a LOT of bite for a light car.
We’re reaching a point in the middle of all this, that a lot of people and businesses are realizing that some things don’t require a bunch of pedantic, bureaucratic nonsense.
Back in February, a tree fell against my house. It didn’t do much damage - just some siding and roof edging - but I still called in a claim. Cool…
Way too many guys around metro detroit that could pop over to help, you shouldn’t be trying to drop in V8's in the dark solo man. I’m across town, but I could get over there if need be.
I am really geeked for European Adventure Rusty Crap Wrenching, I gotta admit.
Gotta put a plug in for the script on my ‘68 Cutlass, with the bonus “S” logo.
Looks like Star Trek TNG lettering...
Always have been partial to late 50's Desoto’s...
I’ve always loved the simplicity of the Cyclone Spoiler font.
