So this post got delayed as I meant to get it out late last week but I had one of my longest weeks and here is a lengthier than I intended summary of it:
I’ve lately I’ve felt a little stagnated in my current job, I’ve got nothing to complain about as I’m a Senior Systems Engineer at a good company with good pay and benefits but have been uninspired lately.
So I spent the week on Denver for work and did a fair bit of exploring while I was there. I’ll do a longer write up on my trip later once I go through photos but here is what the fuel gauge looks like in a rental Camry that you’ve put 140 miles on since you topped it off.
I’ve been without power since about 230 this afternoon. It is warm and humid in St Louis today, hit 85 and stormed all morning which means my house is now humid and warming up unpleasantly.
So I finally carved out some time last night to work on my recently acquired 1990 B2600i. Short list was replace front right caliper, bleed brakes, change oil, replace filters and give it a quick once over for a state inspection and make sure there isn’t anything else that needs fixed.
I used to be pretty big into model rockets when I was younger and hadn’t touched them in years. I had a conversation with a coworker that pretty seriously builds them with his kids and it got my interest piqued again.
So after a week of back and forth between me and the seller and to last issues over the weekend I finally bought a truck and ended up with it in my driveway Sunday night!
So I had been a very loyal Craftsman customer for 15 years, almost every tool I had bought up util a couple years ago was Craftsman and came from Sears.
So I’ve been hunting for a little pickup for a little while focusing on old Japanese trucks. We do a lot of work around the house and while the wagon is awesome it isn’t quite a substitute for a truck.
Well dammit. This means the carbs have to come off for a rebuild. Float valves are stuck on 2/4 carbs on the CB500 and several firm whacks with a screwdriver didn’t loosen them.
So I’m in KC for work this weekend to execute an upgrade and it went so well yesterday I have nothing to do today. I brought along some toys and put together this pi-top ceed system that’s pretty neat.
We’re going through an epic spring cleaning and the sportwagen makes it easier to take loads to Goodwill compared to my wife’s RAV4.
Im taking a walk over lunch on this beautiful day and there’s a random crowd of adults on their phone in a park.
So it’s a beautiful day here in St Louis, 55 and sunny! Get home from work, change clothes realize that we have a few hours of sunlight left and I have the house to myself.
Good morning Oppo!
Evening OPPO’s! I’m going to be in Seattle for work next week attending a AWS training class. I’ve been there a couple times before but either spent most of it down near Renton (local office of my work is there) or just headed into the mountains to fish.
So I used to ride a bicycle a lot of off-road and on trails when younger and have been toying with picking up a bicycle this winter at my wife’s loving suggestion that I need to do more cardio...
I’ve had my new Jetta SportWagen TDI for a hair over a month and have put about 2k miles on it and love it so far!
So after a couple months of car hunting which involved endless cruising of Craigslist, Autotrader and Facebook I have finally purchased a vehicle. My wife is thrilled I will stop showing her ads and asking her opinion like 6 times a night on whatever random thing I’m looking at right then.
So OPPO, a hair over 2 years ago I bought a 2012 5 spd focus hatch that I thought I would drive until the wheels fell off of it, put them back on and drive some more. It’s about to roll over to 100k and needs nearly much work as it is worth though and I’ve frankly fallen out of love with it. The car needs a new cat,…
