Or a teen. It’s surprising how many people forget what being a teen was like.

Seems like you missed the most important part, the private firms doing the study and the final “high” bidder (whose bid is only the highest on paper through the magic of creative accounting!) are all buddies with members of city council

Well, if I was the current mayor who inherited this pile of shit I’d also do what I could to pawn it off on the next guy. It’s a lose-lose no matter what.

Drunk EV to station attendant “do you carry 1/2 mile long charging cables?”

I’m guessing the family got dusted and she had just as much motivation to bring them back as Tony did with Peter.

My impression is Steve didn’t know. That said, I could see him both holding back that information, and giving that “yeah, us” answer out of frustration. He clearly took Natasha’s death hard, and she’d referred to the Avengers as her family not so long ago.

At what point in Infinity War or Endgame do you think it seems super odd in retrospect that she didn’t take the opportunity to namedrop Alexei, Melina, or Yelena? Because I can’t think of any. She was dealing with other things, not drilling through her backstory in exacting detail.

I guess all the extra BILLIONS for stuff funding other “infrastructure” like illegals is so they can actually do the work for the real infrastructure! See it is all how you look at it!

THANK YOU!! Sweet Valhalla, Charles - did you actually watch the same show as the rest of us?

Why single out capitalism?  The Soviet Union and China are some of the top polluters to this day.  Seems more like a humanity problem.

The original audiobook of The Martian is a great example of this (Not the Wil Wheaton narration). The narration is soooo good, it makes and excellent book even better.

1. Brass doesn’t warp

A radiator fitting sees 4-8 times as much pressure as this battery coolant line and experiences temperatures at least twice as high. Also there are different types of plastic. Some take heat and hold threads just fine up to a certain point. But this is a much less stressed part than a radiator fitting despite the

The part that cracked before was the nipple, which now has a brass core.  Likelihood of it breaking before the plastic just cracks from age is pretty small.

Depends on the plastic, if it’s polycarbonate based then it can hold threads very well if the plastic is ductile. And since it is threaded, differential expansion isn’t as much of a big deal in this case, unless the tapping was done so incorrectly that it introduces tons of hoop stress.

It cracked because it got slammed into by road debris. That is a whole lot beefier bit of plastic than what you will find in a typical radiator end tank. It’s going to be just fine for a LOOONG time. Probably longer than if it had never been repaired.

Nah, I really don’t think so. There’s not enough temperature differential to cause a major dimensional change, and any sealing material they use should take up the 1 or 2 mils of dimensional variation that might occur.

How is this janky? This fix is less likely to break than the original design.

We know, Torch. We know.

One important question would be what this rate of failure represents. If 10 percent of verified users are in error, the system cannot be relied upon; if 1 percent of verified users are in error, I would be cautious; if 0.00001 percent of verified users are in error, I would be impressed.
