The only silver lining to this is that the Republican Senators that voted these bills down that are up for reelection will (hopefully) suffer come election day. This is a really bad look for them.

Very mixed feelings about this episode. Wrapped up a lot of the Sandringham nonsense, which was completely incomprehensible in the book, but a little better on the show. I find the episode rather boring, but a decent transition to upcoming stuff. Saw traces of Diana Gabaldon’s writing all over this script -

No, gun nuts like TedMarmalade would just know who to shoot, because the spooky music will play when the bad guy busts in, and everything goes into cool slo-mo and stuff while he draws his Desert Eagle and shouts something cool.

The two people with conceal-carry permits who were carrying guns in the Pulse Nightclub who managed to pull their guns were killed. They were in the situation where they were unwilling to just shoot randomly at people running away from the gunfire of Mateef, which in a crowded nightclub wasn’t entirely clear as to the

I agree completely other than this magical sense of responsibility that you feel seems to come over people. Instinct comes over people. You try to run and hide until that stops working. It is self evident that at some point, that tactic stopped working at Pulse.

A responsible gun owner wouldn’t even draw in that situation. It’s dark, you can’t figure out who is shooting, and the chances of you killing two people? What are you on about? No one takes that kind of risk. No one wants to do that. Real life is not an action movie. Most people are not prepared to kill ANYONE.

So you think people should be allowed to carry concealed in a nightclub/bar? That’s what Trump wants. Be clear on your position.

You seriously think a person at a club at 2 am could have shot this person dead without harming anyone else?

I’ve mentioned this before, but I served in Iraq in a recon platoon that saw a pretty good amount of combat.

I like to remind those wannabe Patriots that it’s difficult to wield their Chuck Norris Special Edition AR-15 when an airburst grenade from an XM25 shatters every tooth in their goddamn head.

I love it when the people who insist that the body count would have been LOWER if all the drunk people in a dark night, crowded nightclub had been armed and had a hard on for shooting people accuse everyone else of living in a fantasy world.

You have Hollywood fantasies in your head about how easy it is to actually hit individuals with a pistol. This is why there are stories of police firing dozens and dozens of rounds at a single suspect.

I don’t use the word hate lightly. I also try to remember that most people aren’t good or bad, everyone has some humanity, etc, etc.

This! People are so god damn entitled today. If you’re throwing a party and its 6PM you’re fine. If you’re a loud asshat at midnight on a weekday while people are trying to sleep. You’re leaving.

and we have a well regulated militia. its called the fucking national guard so like this second amendment average citizen thing has never made sense to me. THE OPENING LINE IS ABOUT A MILITIA. If you have a weapon of war with zero regulation, and you aren’t in a militia. It. Doesn’t. Cover. You.

What the 2nd Amendment didn’t have in mind when it stated ‘A well regulated militia’.

Two overtly (and pointlessly) cynical Rich pieces in one day. What a boon.

To have Cruz give a condescending tsking to Democrats for “Political Theater” in the form of a #filibuster was a miscalculation of epic proportions.

Couldn’t you then say, by this absolutely ridiculous logic, that George W. Bush was directly responsible for the shooting because he invaded Iraq, which caused Obama to inherit troops there that he needed to pull out?

I gave my dog vaccines. He grew up never even learning to talk. He poops outside in public. He refuses to wear pants. He can’t read or write.
