One particular set of words caught my attention here. “Released more than 20 years ago”.

So, are you working at Kotaku again or did they just not remove the title on the profile page?
The standard edition 3389 JPY currently on Amazon (regular price 4400 JPY). So about 30 bucks?
I preferred the older Tales games which were more explicit about it. There was a juicy NG+ with very powerful effects that you could choose to carry over. Everything except the hidden dungeon stuff was achievable on your first playthrough (including most/all trophies).
Vesperia is definitely one of if not the best title in the series. Good choice.
Definitely interested to see how the equipment system differs. The last few entries have been so heavily skewed towards ultra hardcore grinders that it’s been pretty annoying for someone who’s interested in getting some good loot.
But but but science.
Is the Metroid Prime 4 complaint really fair when we got something far more exciting than that? A real honest to goodness main series Metroid game.
A Steam release? Sweet. Might pick it up on there. This is however also the perfect game series for the Switch, since it has a satisfying mission structure that is good for playing one mission per day during commute.
That weapon name sounds like what one might name the one in the final battle in Super Metroid. :P
Dude. I’ve been waiting since AM2R (or since Fusion if we’re not including the best Metroid game in the last 5 years) for this. It looks super hot. Incredibly hyped to be scared while running away from invincible robots, as long as we get a beam upgrade in the endgame that lets me blow their faces off.
Nintendo clueless about the way the internet works in the modern day? Say it ain’t so.
I mean, the game itself is still good. It’s just not even close to as easy to play as it probably should be in 2021.
Access to tons and tons of PC only releases, with all Xbox games being both PC+Xbox for the foreseeable future.
At least they look pretty good and consistent. If the environments are also consistent with no weird edges and if there’s a fast forward feature (like it seems) this might be the best way to replay these games.
There’s info in there for the eagle eyed. Check out the image I captured. FF2 is shown with a fast forward icon during combat. You love to see it. The FF5 and FF6 sprites are more detailed and “higher res” than their SNES versions, but not garbage looking like the iOS/Steam remakes. The combat backgrounds are…
At least it looks like a pretty fun game? Especially if you enjoy stupid dialogue. I don’t care a whole lot about what they do to the story of FF1 tbh.
PC releases seem guaranteed with Microsoft’s track record. Sony + Nintendo + PC is likely to be the best way to be able to play all games going forward.
I wonder how they’ll address duping and other kinds of cheating. The original was definitely plagued by that stuff. If they don’t fix it then online play might be quite screwed from the beginning.
Keep in mind that Diablo 2 is incredibly old by now. They’ve made some improvements but they’re mostly concerning visuals and compatibility. As a person who put hundreds of hours into D2 I am actually not sure how many modern gamers will enjoy D2 at this point. Stuff has improved in games over the last 20 years.
