I just can’t imagine being angry about this if you’re not impacted by it.

I don’t think the Kelvin movies were a particularly strong influence on the new wave of Trek shows. Maybe they provided some aesthetic inspiration, but otherwise, no. I think the new shows would have gone the direction they did with or without the movies. Although I don't know if they would have been so comfortable…
Huge Star Trek fan since birth. TNG and its era were my jam as a kid, but I like the Kelvin movies for what they are. While I love my morality plays and spatial anomalies, I think there’s room in the franchise for all kinds of stories and genres, including action movies, comedies, etc.
I guess I just always assumed that those things were done with a signature stamp in the first place.
Bobby’s in the basement stampin’ out the autographs...
I don’t know what they were thinking about Hayden/Anakin. AFAIK it was supposed to be a scene of Anakin and Obi-Wan practice dueling before Episode II, so he was supposed to be a teenager at that point.

But while the weak spots in their early work were usually just misfires, the weak spots in their later work show most when the collaborative process broke down…
I miss him like he was someone I knew. But I like to think he’s up there in the cool, non-Christian heaven, takin’ ‘er easy for all us sinners.
For the clicks, baby!
They do it so they have another excuse to whine about Dave Chappelle.
I know people who really get offended if you don’t say “merry Christmas,” so I wish those people an extra joyous “happy holidays” every chance I get, because screw them.
It just, in a nutshell, feels very strange for Hollywood to create an Oscar bait movie out of this. It’s like patting themselves on the back for a problem they pointedly did not solve. Maybe the intent was a mea culpa, but if not, this is about twenty years too soon. Weinstein’s presence is still all over Hollywood.
Can you pull your pants back up then?
