Watched Mean Streets recently. It is very much Scorsese in the raw, just a slice of life with minimal narrative, a tragic ending that seems more like just another dangerous day than a climax, and some random lions. The nearest comparison I can think of is probably Kids. Interesting to see Boyz n the Hood here. An

Sad. Heard the interview with his wife on the Take It Away solo Beatles podcast and wondered if this was coming. They do a pretty deep dive into his work with Wings and otherwise that’s worth hearing for those who are interested. RIP.
