I don’t know that it does.
Who cares who invented something long ago? Focusing on cars since 1990 seems pretty reasonable in a discussion about what “young” people are doing in 2021.  If you have to be 60 to remember a car, it isn’t a factor for your average 26 year old.

The big problem is that all those affordable compact SUVs aren’t actually affordable. The average wage for a 30 year old in the US is around $30k, and Ford wants $26K for an Ecosport SE.

This feels like what people I know have experienced.
My friends and family are pretty prosperous midwesterners with real jobs and enough money to buy houses, but the cars just seem so *expensive* that none of us can justify buying new.
I’m driving a 2017 C-Max because it’s the only thing I found under 40K where I don’t

I sort of assumed that Far From Home takes place after FaWS, or at least at the same time. There was enough time to have Aunt May setup her charity for the bounced and I got the sense school had been back in session for a few months before the trip.

I know every time I got current with Wandavision Disney+ tried to get me to watch Age of Ultron.  So if I had been in the woods about this Pietro guy there were suggestions as how to get current.

I give this feature 6 months of active pushing, 2 years of decreasing engagement by Microsoft, then being quietly killed about 4 years from now.

Kind of like the “Groove Music Pass”, “People”, and “Windows to Go”

Regarding Nat’s Peanut Butter... there is a thing going around the internet where someone zoomed in on the jar & figured out her Peanut Butter had expired like 2 years before the scene in question was supposed to be happening.
In actuality, it was almost certainly because they used an off the shelf jar to film a scene

You time came. Google “Star Wars Rebels Ezra Lightsaber”

And in September 2020 the CBO was predicting that the trust fund would be broke in 2021.  Until Congress gave it a bunch of extra money.

Unlike those money-printing highways?

I am also shocked we made it this far into the Wailord discussion without anyone mentioning his one true love!

When I was in high school my English class read “Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” and like 5 chapters in some wondered aloud if there was some kind of hidden relationship between Jekyll and Hyde. (In the original book, it’s a big reveal).
The teacher stopped class and asked for a show of hands who knew what the answer to his

I dunno, digitally mapping 15 year old girls faces onto nude women & posting it on the internet to humiliate children who were mean to her daughter seems like the real crime.
Eye on the ball.

Homer did once rig up a mop, bucket, and a tape player into a dummy to cover for him while he went on an adventure.
The dummy got promoted up to a corner office before the tape player caught fire & burned down the building.

I think part of the issue is that this is the first time we have had a “real” part of the MCU play out over several weeks.
Previously, when a new movie dropped we might have thoughts about what was and was not being setup while the movie is running, but we are mostly forced to watch the whole movie before we could go

I was always facinated by Rufus mentioning that De Nomolos was the Sit-up Champion of the 27th century. That takes some dedication.
Was that just an early inkling of De Nomolos’ fanaticism? Or did he start to build his evil following off of a 27th Century fitness blog or somesuch?

Despite what TV tells you, there are non-white people living in the midwest. The local racists are *way* more worried about them than a white guy in a Honda Fit.

Now, if he had said that hours of driving through wheat fields, only to have them replaced by hours of corn fields had mentally broken him.... well that’s

Yeah, I guarantee that if an Iowan was working at a gas station on the interstate, the author was not the first out of towner they have seen.

Also, in 2020 Iowa voted 44.9% blue (which is why their state Republicans have put voter suppression at the top of the Agenda) and Nebraska was 39.2% blue. So it isn’t like they

It has been seeming kind of gross to me how many people just viewed this show as “connective tissue between phase 3 and Doctor Strange 2" or about how people were more interested in other characters who might show up than they were in Wanda or Vision, the two actual title characters.
It almost felt like because the

I do enjoy the theater experience. Part of the secret is not to visit the snack counter, it cuts the price by about 70%
