Firefly gets like two stars out of five. No matter how you build her up the Space Prostitute is always a bit rough on the gender politics and the tragically damaged hot barefoot chick who needs her brother to look after her when she isn’t kicking ass with her powers may as well have been on Buffy.

I disagree.
I think the part where it was implied that only by being capable of making babies can she resist her training to kill was the thing that upset people. I myself am infertile and I still manage to feel the natural world. To my knowledge I’ve never killed anyone.

I think some things went over so well they were adopted by pretty much every version of a character that came later... but the rest of it was pretty painful.

Yep, I’m out on cable forever.  When I do go to my Mother’s house for some reason and start watching a show on her Cable that I don’t normally have access too I pretty much instantly nope out after the 3rd commercial.
