Neutral: My dealer has gotten cheaper and my indy more expensive over the years, to the point where they’re within 10% on almost all jobs I’ve requested lately. That’s due heavily to the fact that the special tools that are required across the board, which only seems to be increasing over time.

Unfortunately for many folks in the entry luxury segment, it’s not about how much they personally enjoy spending time in the car, but rather how they think others see them. I would wager that Model 3 > 3-Series in the perceived prestige factor.

Tesla somewhat redefined luxury in terms of “simpler is better”. German interiors are complicated with buttons and crap all over the place, Tesla is the opposite.
