You forgot the best one:

I was going to say something like that too. When Luke couldn’t think of another series that had so radically redone its core mechanics, I really wanted to bring up FFXV. I hated that one, but this sounds intriguing to me, so I’ll totally buy in on your “reverse FF” theory there.

When I read this review, it really shines a light on how much our personal gaming preferences influence our view of a game. The previous Yakuza games’ intense combat was always offputting to me and I just couldn’t play them for very long. But LaD is the very first Yakuza I’ll likely finish. The turn-based combat is

Agreed. Nolan’s attitude about his movie not being seen in theaters is infuriating, but that doesn’t let Warner off the hook.

I have spent an absurd amount of time in this game’s main hub. You know the areas where you can pilot your snakes/worms/whatevers into those circular spaces that mirror every motion the lines make so that you can just sort of make pretty symmetrical squiggles forever while the music plays?

Nobody is winning this argument. We can both agree, however, that Warner not notifying the people making these films of this decision was a crappy thing to do.

Because assholes who think their movie can only be seen in a theater during a pandemic can fuck themselves

When I think of the PS3 era (even though I never owned one), games like this are what I think of. Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan, Journey, The Puppeteer, LittleBigPlanet. All of those games might not be the biggest, brightest, or command the most attention like Uncharted or God of War or Resistance. They were charming

Who’d a thought the streaming war would turning into a pissing contest.

Makes me want to illegal download Tenet and watch it on my smart phone with only one ear bud in.

Hey Nolan. There is a fucking pandemic going on and will be going on a long time next year.  Do you want people to actual see your movies?

I didn’t view Boba Fett’s reaction to the Imperial ship as anger so much as it was disbelief. Fennec Shand has a related comment about how the New Republic controls everything up to the outer rim, etc.

Well, I’m sure being put into a gigantic mouth in the desert by a blind man and coming out clean in the other side while also having to stay on this desert planet changes your perspective of the universe.

Well, it was enable for all platforms until Sony noticed and had them remove cross-platform for Playstations.

It was absolute corporate BS, specifically, Sony trying to flex their marketshare to force more people into buying Playstations.

Generally it’s been, the more successful console of a generation was the one that resisted cross-play.

There are some legitimate technical challenges (regarding profile synchronisation, where applicable), but these are small compared to the legal & corporate issues which certainly dominate the issue.

The problem with anecdotes is that they work in both directions... and there are far more examples of Sony being the anti-cross platform one.

The fact that Fortnite came out in 2018 with crossplay enabled until someone noticed and shut it off gives me the impression that its a 0% technical issue and a 100% corporate bullshit issue

Amusingly enough, Nintendo tried to do that with it’s app and everyone shit on it.

Now we just need cross-platform party/chat so we’re not forced to use the in-game chats.
