I have this conversation with multiple family members that are a cop and a teacher all the time. Their response is always that they don’t benefit from socialism because they earned their money — so they aren’t a drain on tax payers. 

No one on the right ever complains about how the tax cuts, military and police are socialist programs.

There is a whole progressive caucus in the House and it has more than a few members. 

I hope she wins, but wasn’t Obama, as president, the de facto leader of the Democratic party?

I had to explain to a family member that just because Garner was overweight and had a heart condition doesn't negate the police officer's liability. I haven't talked to that person since.
