I feel the same way about police brutality. I’d always heard about it in an abstract way and it happened so long ago.

Social media can be a nightmare for any number of reasons, but I don’t think that the abusers of yesteryear are prepared to withstand the counterattack that is direct testimonials on Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram, etc. Places like this that can get away with casual cruelty for decades are imploding and I’m super into it.
