*colorism* my iPad also is not happy with that term, apparently!

I usually think of racism as referring to black people (from any country), but thought that they used colorist because it is also common amongst people from Asia, India, etc. ?

Oh my.

I feel so stupid reading this. I have no idea why I thought it would be a one time thing, because of course skin cells slough off. Sounds like from what you said that it does some kind of lasting harm below the epidermis though. Scary.

You think you're better than her when you're slinging rape jokes?

Oh, brilliant idea from this...if a rejected candidate sends back rude email, send a follow up "We accidentally sent you a rejection, which should have been a congratulations, but now it's definitely a rejection." Burn.

I'm with you that it's a rape joke, which makes it stupid and passe. But, I'm not sure I'd put it up there with solicitation for murder.

I love the veil too. That was the best part, she should've kept it on for all the pics.

Don't you love it when jerky people finally get some of their own handed back to them? On the other hand "down to earth" in that family probably has a whole different meaning than for those of us who actually live on planet Earth.

I would buy more toys because I love to play with them, but I don't have anywhere else to put them! We use a small room as a playroom in our house and both my kids have some toys in their bedrooms, but after a number of tripping accidents I banned toys from being anywhere else in the house. So no more room=no more

It reminds me of when everyone got up in arms about Justin Beiber's thoughts on abortion. Why should we care what his thoughts on abortion are?

Even the Wintour cannot withstand Michelle Obama's charms.

That's what I want to know! Not that I could afford it.

I had regular chores that were unpaid as just a matter of living in a house (dishwasher), but we also had extra jobs that were paid and optional (weeding, deeper cleaning, etc.).

I was also looking forward to checking off those boxes on the kids' order forms. I used to love book order Fridays so much. :(

That was me. I had to send my laundry out freshman year at 70 cents a pound because I didn't know what I was doing and the pile got unmanageable. I'm really good at it now though and my kids will definitely be learning how to do their own laundry.

So, this is a bit tricky, but you are conflating a (non-existent) criminal case with a civil case. He has the burden of proof in his civil libel suit against her. One element of defamation is that the statement has to be false, which means he has the burden of proving that he didn't rape her by the civil standard of

Mine. I'm a lawyer, but I don't see clients often & my daughter comes to work with me occasionally, if childcare falls through. But my firm has a huge playroom upstairs, far away from everyone else, so she plays & I work. Most of the attorneys have kids, so the playroom makes it easy on everyone.

I completely agree. He shouldn't be teaching now at all, but this sounds like it was the first indication that something was wrong. :(

A couple of months ago, my grandmother went from completely lucid to not being able to recognize her own children within weeks. The fact that it happened so fast is what scares me the most because there was no time to plan, say goodbye, etc.
