The only people I know who have ever intervened are women. Men will pretend that “protecting the women” is part of their masculinity trip but really most of them are cowards.

I had no miscarriages and I would have been terrified to intervene at 7 mos pregnant.  You did what you could safely do in that situation.  If people could not be garbage humans, it would really be great.

You tagged this “Los Angeles” rather than merely “Assholery in modern urban life” so I offer an anecdotal counterpoint. Onlookers in Los Angeles can also be very good Samaritans!

And I think it doesn’t matter whether this was the toddler’s mind protecting him in his despair via imaginary bear friend, or a real bear friend protecting the little boy. The end result is that a three-year-old child is alive and safe. I’m perfectly willing to settle for this.

Being found not guilty isn't quite the same thing as "COMPLETELY INNOCENT", though.

I’d love to know how many of these men were going to mentor women *in the first fucking place*. My guess is none of them.

I’m going to be that never once did it come to these mens’ mind that the bigger problem is how many women will decline a one-on-one meeting with a man because the man might decide to sexually assault her.

If he’d have been sexually assaulted by a woman, they’d be all over it with both condemnations for her and jokes about him.

DL is a misogynist and has a history of saying fucked up things. So it’s not surprising he doesn’t understand how a man can be assaulted. 

I’m canadian, so it doesn’t affect me nearly as much but I still don’t want you to have to endure another shutdown.  Especially for a wall that was supposedly figurative until your president couldn’t understand that concept.

I think the royalty money goes to Katherine Jackson who seems to have been ok with her husband beating her sons, possibly pimping out Michael at one point, and raping some of her daughters, but drew a line at him having a consensual affair..... I disagree. The real tragedy are his victims. Another way of looking at Michael Jackson is he crafted a persona that appealed to children. Mild- mannered. Child-like. His home was built to entice children. All to create the perfect environment for a predator. People act like Michael Jackson was some sort of naive waif…

Please stop defending him in any way shape or form. There are no mitigating circumstances with child molestation. He was a scumbag predator whose deeds rest solely on his own shoulders. Of course he had help-but no one was forcing him to destroy these boys’ lives.

He was so messed up by his dad and never really had a childhood; I thought there was at least a possibility that it really was all innocent, that he was just stunted and strange and wanted friends who were childlike.
